lol at people who thought shipping your phone, paying $2-300, and voiding your warranty with cheap OEM parts was a good idea

even without all the shipping drama what were you guys thinking?

lol at the snide comment by a troll.

So that is your answer to my question ?

Must suck to hear the truth put so clearly

It's just a color change, its not like it makes the phone any better.. but it does degrade the value/warranty of the phone

Hey they also sell aluminum cases that kill your reception, but that group of people only spent $150 to make their iPhones crappier

Eventually whenever you purchase a product, what matters the most is that the non-monetary value the product has to you outweighs its financial cost. If people are willing to pay extra for a different color, so what? What do you care? If painting a wall in your home makes you feel a more happy each and every day, you paint your wall.

And don't act like color isn't an essential part of any product. Exclusiveness is in play here as well.

You're right in that many here made a misjudgment regarding ifixdirect's reliability/trustworthiness/quality. But that doesn't make desiring the product they offered 'wrong'. That's like saying after having purchased a car from a bad car dealer, and your car breaks down; "see, you shouldn't have gotten a car, you should have kept cycling!"

Your remark -the way you put it- actually does look like one of a troll. Who would post such a comment? Not contributing to any ongoing discussion, not asking for help with a related issue you're personally facing, the question you're asking doesn't seem like an honest question you would really like to receive an answer to. What could be your motivation for posting such a comment? The only motivation I can come up with is that you're having a black iPhone yourself and want to justify you haven't got a white one. Maybe a bit of envy because the majority of people having a white iPhone most likely are in a better financial situation? (since they can afford the conversion, and can afford voiding warranty)

edit. I'll end with an answer to your question;
Q. "even without all the shipping drama what were you guys thinking?"
A. I feel a white iPhone 4 has more value to me than the monetary cost of the conversion and the voiding warranty. And FYI, I still do.

I don't think lol at people's misfortune is a very nice reply ... good luck to those who have been scammed by these bottom feeders

Amen brother. This guy needed to be schooled on proper manners. :) he reminded me a lot of the Nelson character on the Simpsons. Who cares if we want to covert our phone? It's our money and if the 200 dollars is something we're okay with spending to have exactly what we want, then so be it. Obviously, there are people out there like you and I who feel likewise. Or these businesses wouldn't exist.

Perhaps I can try to understand the rationale for the first few people who ordered, but

It seems that people kept ordering from the place even after they were warned about the company= that's what doesn't make any sense

Looks great! I'm happy everything worked out for you. Prices seem really high though. You could almost buy a new iPhone for the price of a conversion kit. I think Apple will eventually give us the choice of many different colors (or at least I hope they will)

I can't believe I ever stood up for these people... So much for the benefit of the doubt.
-EDIT-
And, I'm not sure if he still reads this thread, but I've got to eat some crow and apologize to chargit... I jumped all over him for his negativity, but it turns out it was well placed.

I was just trying to help! and no I have not been reading this thread but someone who does sent me a pm telling me of your response. apology accepted! but I see there are still some believers in ifixdirect.....and by the way people this changing owners is BS!! they are just trying to prolong all of the paypal disputes. if you get so many disputes in a certain amount of time paypal will cancel your account. at this point of someone does business with them they will get what they deserve! but its a shame there are companies like this...

Any updates on the quality of white parts? I see iFixDirect is now offering the red parts with white borders you posted in another thread.

Hello guys, I wanted to input my experience with the White iphone conversion.
I did 2 conversion from iResQ. Their customer service was excellent.

In November, my girlfriend's phone fell to the ground when reaching her phone out from her pocket to answer a phone call. The phone landed the top corner and the screen cracked. She and I were devastated after a week of use.

Her phone was repaired.

In December, my white iphone got cracked as well. my phone did not drop.
I keep my phone in my right jean pocket. I walked around my desk and the edge of my desk hit me. I did not run into hard. A few minutes later I checked my text message to find my iPhone cracked! You can see the invisible shield holding it together.
iphone4cracked.jpg

The quality isn't as great as the Black OEM. iResQ was kind in enough to fix the damage for free. I took them up on the offer but decided to go back to the Black OEM casing.

I can tell the different between the black and white just by holding it. The black is much heavier than my girlfriend's white converted iPhone 4.

iResQ does have great customer service.
Sorry I know the thread is about iFixDirect but I wanted to share my experience with the White iPhone 4 conversion. I am not sure if they all receive their parts from the same supplier.

Welcome back to the OEM/Full warranty crowd

So iFixDirect is pushing other colors like blue and red, which isn't surprising considering the "success" of the white color. The image below was extracted from iFixDirect's Facebook photo gallery page. The thing that really caught my eye was the "Zeetron" logo in the top part of their image, but the bottom half is all ifixdirect.com. Now wasn't there some speculation in this thread way way way back about how Zeetron was or was not related iFixDirect, but this ad flyer sort of implies they are related. Conspiracy theorists, you may now discuss...

Well, they did mention they were under 'new' management...

Good post and thumbs up for posting pictures along with it.

Surely I can imagine white parts (i.e. non-OEM) might get damaged more quickly, however I'd like to point out the following; its not that the official (OEM) black parts can't get damanged/break that way.
1- on the first pic you can see the 'metal side/antenna' actually shows some signs of damage as well. Must have been a pretty heavy drop then, and I guess one can expect the front(glass) to break in such case (even the glass of an OEM-black iPhone).
2- The event you describe of walking against the edge of a table with your phone in your pocket; I actually once had that myself with an iPod touch! Also didn't bump into it hard, yet the screen did break as well..

So, my point merely is, surely it could be that white parts are of inferior quality, however, I'm not sure black parts would not have been damaged about the same way in the instances you have described.

Ive jusy had my phone converted by theappleguys.co.uk
Kyle the boss seemed pretty decent in all my email questions & answers. My phone is coming back tomorrow so will update then

Received

GOOD NEWS
I received my white parts after 2 months! lol. The parts are in excellent quality. Am very very happy with the parts but still pissed at ifixdirect. Worst customer support ever. The story begins here (https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=11560669&#post11560669) I began mailing them to check on my order status after 1 week of nothing, they replied promising next day delivery. It was only after another week that I got my tracking with a placeholder USPS tracking number. I was about to file a paypal dispute when USPS notified me the package was picked up. It was finally delivered after 2 months of drama....

The parts are high quality, almost the same with Apple. I bought a full kit from ifixit, the failed to include the tool kit... Am not gonna fight with them for a partial refund, am just sooo glad I got my stuff. The final word on this one: STAY AWAY FROM THEM

Glad your 2 month saga had a happy ending. I concur with the conclusion.

I got mine yesterday, after a month i guess, it seems a little yellowish than white, i am gonna convert it today after I go home from work, will post some pictures soon!

so, everything works, even the proximity sensor. took me around 2 hours to do the conversion. all parts are there except for the front camera bracket.
LCD is a little towards the right, just a little, not so much to bother me.

Ah. Yeah that front camera bracket was a pain. I ended up leaving it out. Looks good!

Thanks! I left it too, I was afraid I'll damage the panel removing it.

The new managent now seems really good, all my mails were responded to.

They actually gave me a good discount on this purchase. (I had ordered earlier bit they dint send it, this is when everyone was having a problem with them, so I got a refund a month and a lot of mails later)

I purchased again as the new owner offered me a discount and sent it pretty quickly! I got the kit in just 4 days, and I live in India!!

I guess they have everything in place now and seems ok to do business under the new ownership.
