Everyone has difference financial circumstances.
That's why I am sure there will be a non-Pro version just like the iPhone, MacBook etc.

I would argue that with today's technology, this can be solved much better. If Apple had left the computing technology external, it would have really been a pair of glasses - instead of a pair of diving goggles. Thunderbolt is fast enough for that. Also there are the appropriate flexible cables. But that's just my opinion...One thing going for it is that it's somewhat modular. The battery, battery to headset cable, and the speaker straps are all easily swappable components.
Also, it appears to be completely functional without the front glass, and it looks like it wouldn't be very difficult to replace the front glass if it broke (as long as you could purchase the component)
I didn't appreciate the glibness of her comment. She called the camera "a slightly laggy 2010's webcam" which I don't think is accurate. The best available doesn’t mean it’s good enough. In fact I distinctly remember one of the reviews (WSJ or the verge maybe?) pointing out that even if it was generally better than other alternatives it wasn’t life like, colours well dull, motion blur and graininess in less bright environment were noticeable and in general it was better to be ‘out there’ than ‘in there’.
I remember when people said the original iPhone was "bonkers expensive". Times change.I’m do think sites like ifixit have lost sight of the fact that this device is essentially a technology demonstration- like all first generation devices tend to be. That’s why it’s bonkers expensive, excessively complicated and not designed with any thought to repairabilty.
In 2 generations time, it will be cheaper, lighter and have a battery that lasts significantly longer.
I don't know? It's a lot, but it all looks serviceable. I guess 3.I'm guessing a repairability score of 1 when they finally release the full teardown and score.
I still use my G4 iBook, after 23 years, sure as you say everything does and so will my G4, but I can’t see this one getting nowhere near 23 years of usage.Everything will once it serves its purpose.
Not for 180,000 it wasn’t.The Price is the biggest problem with it.
Let’s compromise and call it a spatial computer😂True.. But maybe mixed reality (MR) is more apt for the AVP![]()
Who said Apple consider expensive devices as disposable? Thats your projection not theirs. They treat them as recyclable and use recyclable materials to make them.I’m so tired of Apple considering expensive devices as disposable.
I reckon Steve would have shipped them with Goggle Eyes. 👀 He would have also told audiences they had a bargain with $3500.I feel like it's a product to demonstrate that 1) Apple is still an innovator 2) Tim Cook is a lot more than a placeholder.
It makes me wonder what Steve would think of it? I m guessing it wouldn't have shipped yet. LOL.
I think the future if this type of product is with true pass through (ie transparent) glasses that superimpose images onto the real view.
100% agree. I found her funny. Those people who want to watch videos of people unscrewing everything in real time should watch Louis Rossmann whining for an hour. She found a way to make what would have been a rather boring video entertaining. screw screw screw fastener screw screw screw fastener ... Video sped up during those boring parts. Found it entertaining, informative and well done. Might even watch it again.
haha, yeah that's probably the only thing. but they had no other choice for that.If you include Apple accessories, then AirTags use a CR2032 from the drugstore.

I see no basis for that.haha, yeah that's probably the only thing. but they had no other choice for that.
trust me, if they did, they would have glued a battery in.
You’re so close to understanding why so many of us are disappointed in this thing. It makes me wonder what Steve would think of it? I m guessing it wouldn't have shipped yet. LOL.
It runs more pixels than the Apple xdr 6k display, albeit at less bits, but more Hz.I would argue that with today's technology, this can be solved much better. Inefficient design? 😂😂😂. You build one then. People who tear these things down are in awe of what they managed to put in. There is nothing on the planet that fits in as much tech in such a small space. You’re so close to understanding why so many of us are disappointed in this thing.
And to those who don’t like the comments in the review about the number of screws, there are real costs to inefficient design and manufacturing. Watch some Sandy Munro videos (his Tesla sycophancy is insufferable but he clearly understand manufacturing).
