I'm actually incredibly discouraged that it only went up 2 mAh.
Seriously?!? 2?!
I'm HOPING they found some way to make that terrible ~1430 mAh last longer but I'm sick and tired of Apple focusing so much on thinness and not enough on battery life. My wife's 4S is absolutely horrible. Can't make it until 3-4 PM most days. (And yes, I've tried everything possible.)
I'm going to stay optimistic because reviews seemed to suggest battery life is OK on i5 but I'm definitely skeptical.
Really? It's not about what you try its about her habitual use of the device that may need to be changed, after all it is her IP4s.
Power off the device, and give it a reset cycle as well - then charge overnight.
* Close apps that require data, or still reload data constantly:
FaceBook, Maps, VoIP, etc.
(remember apps remain connected to data up to 10mins when minimized, however VoIP apps like GoogleVoice will remain connected longer as they keep ports open for inbound communications - voice/video)
* How often are photos taken, streaming video over WiFi or 3G for the day?
* how many ActiveSync emails are forwarded to the device (include all folders that have rules to send the largest bulk of emails: kill these folders search for them when required).
* I'll bet that there is a rogue battery app in there that is the root cause; remove ALL games and re-install 1 by 1 per day.
Let's face it ... She WANTS the iPhone 5 no matter the battery life in the iPhone 4S, and sorry if you need to pay for it to keep her blissfully happy and part of the hot & cool wives club; but it'll pay you dividends if displayed to her right.
