author can't spell

To the author: "lose" should actually be spelled "loose" in the context of connectors inside an iPhone

Here's a rather clear case of hardware specs not mattering. I couldn't care less about the battery capacity as measure in mAh. I DO care about battery life. Real world.

If Apple is able to squeeze the same or more life out of the same capacity battery - good.
Stop being so logical!

Many of the people who visit this site do not appreciate folks who actually have a grip on reality.

As a matter of fact, they might make up the majority. If you start injecting too much reason into commentary here, MacRumors might see a drop in pageviews.

A lot of people here would prefer to live in their own effing dreamworld.

MR: you should think about rewriting the first paragraph of this story.

Well, technically, its not a paragraph, its just two sentences. A paragraph is 4-6 complex sentences grouped together with a central theme.

And this has none of it :)

I'll save you all some time. Shockingly, it's not very user-repairable. Screw you, iFixIt, no one cares.

No one cares? I care, therefore you are wrong. I was a repair engineer for 26 years and I find this very interesting. So screw you HiRez.

False.

Educate yourself, friend. I had teachers like that growing up, don't continue those false narrow parameters and teach the importance of content and structure of a paragraph. :)

Stay in school, sonny boy.

There should be an apostrophe in "its": it's. The apostrophe would indicate that the word is a contraction of "it is", rather than the possessive of the noun "it."

Kdimitt has already touched on your nonsense about the number of sentences in a paragraph.

Oh, the irony. Battery life is a spec. And it's derived from two other specs: battery capacity and CPU/RAM/baseband chip/screen power consumption.

Well excuse me for not posting my responses like I am writing for my students or principal. But to your point, you are in fact correct about my grammar though.

Thanks man, how much do you love me? :)

A lot man, a lot! :D

Battery capacity is a spec. Battery life is not a spec. There is no way to determine how long a battery will last in real world situations since everyone will use there phones differently.

How far can each of us go on a gallon of gas if we drive the same car? No way to tell. Route, speed, cargo carried, terrain, accessories in use, tire pressure, temperature, and many, many other things come into play.

I was responding to the idea that a 2 mAh increase - independent of any other metric - would make a difference. There is no way to tell without taking use into consideration.

Although the source does not specifically state that a paragraph must have a minimum number of sentences. So you are in fact correct. However, a paper or an article with short two sentence "paragraphs" make the article appear choppy and poorly written.

And from what I can tell, the content and structure of this article is not great. But I have caught writers, including myself, running into similar issues as well on our own website. So, to be fair, everyone at some point writes articles like this :)

Edit: Here is what Perdue OWL has to say about two sentence paragraphs and those "false narrow parameters." According to Perdue OWL, "but writers should beware of paragraphs that only have two or three sentences. It's a pretty good bet that the paragraph is not fully developed if it is that short." :)

The comment about the vibrating motor is asinine.

The reason to go with a stronger louder vibration is so that I can be felt when you are engaged. What good is a vibrating ring if you don't feel it?

Which is the very reason I opted for the white because the sides are bare and there isn't anything to rub off.

Yup, I'm concerned as my black iPhone 5 arrives today and the anodising was something I'd wondered how Apple had gotten around wear and tear on - seems they haven't! I have a feeling this may turn into some pretty huge issue over the next few weeks, my iP4 is still almost unmarked after two years and no case, can't see that happening with the 5. Wonder if Apple will end up offering replacements with the bare aluminium sides - it does look smarter on the white to me anyway! (didn't want white phone as it distracts from the screen).

couldnt agree more! I have missed the vibration on my 4S many times and always wondered why

Why do you guys even prefer the linear vibrator that is less noticeable? Of course I want my vibratory as strong as possible or I can't detect it.

That me too, the vibrator in 4S was hardly even noticeable when in my pant pocket. I hope this one will be more noticeable.

I planned on getting white just because my iPhone 4 was black and I wanted a change but I kept looking at the black one and man it is classy looking. But I started thinking of the surface and went with white. If it's truly anodized it should be pretty durable other than scratches and nicks. Don't see it "rubbing" off. But yeah I'm sure there'll be some kind of "gate" coming on in the next few weeks and this one is as good as any.
