Nope... it's iWeb only. You know you can do it manually through Homepage on the .mac site? Not quite so convenient but a trade-off if you want the other iPhoto 06 features.

Yeah i know it can be done there. But my wife was using iphoto and She didnt need me for anything. If i can get her to use the ,mac site then i'll update.

Chris

That was fast! I don't have iLife '06 yet, but it's good to know that some problems will already be fixed when I eventually do get it.

thank goodness they fixes the theme quality in iMovie, sometimes it would render at low resolutions and scale up, resulting in an ugly pixelization

itunes videos - only US!

hi there,

just thought you should post a footnote that only folks in the US can buy the videos...us Canucks and other folks are screwed for now 🙂

I'll keep waiting 🙂

I still only get iTunes 6.0.2-seems the Windows version isn't up yet. Are the versions of the iLife updates for the Intel based Macs available yet?

Yes -- updating my Intel iMac as I type.

I am updating all of them apart from iTunes, I am not convinced with the 'improving performance' jargon after the stunt they pulled regarding the oh-so-useful 'ministore' function 😡

If there was only a Universal version of JHymn I would be able to play the MY music I purchased on my Archos AV500 😀

I'm sure they're just tweaking/tightening the DRM a little bit. Seems thats all most iTunes updates do these days...

We've got heaps of music videos down here. Do you mean the TV shows?

does anyone know if it fixes imovie not actually performing the faster/slower/reverse edit?

Praise be Apple. So say we all.

This fixed all my problems with iPhoto. The bugs were driving me up the wall. The thumbnails failing to update after edit. Fixed. The Desktop wallpaper being able to set from iPhoto. Fixed.

Praise be Apple. So say we all. 😎

40 seconds to download all the patches through software update...not bad! Gotta love a university connection.

wow, upadates already! They must also be patched so that you can't run it on a PC 😀 I'm glad apple always catches problems fast though!

This is so knit-picky, but I was hoping the top bar wouldn't pop down when doing full screen editing in iPhoto... just looks tacky to me, but oh well.

Ah... the menu bar. That's needed in order to get to certain things like "Revert To Original". I actually needed that when I screwed up an edit.

You can have it stay down if that's what you mean.

EDIT: Wait, my mistake. I thought I'd seen something that said you could.

I've heard of that, but I can't quite place it. What's a dial-up user?

I oughta smack you......

All my posts have been made on a dial-up connection (bar a few I made at my parent's house).

I hate Telstra.

Cool. iLife is due to be at our doorstep when I get home from work tonight. Looks like I'll be updating before I even use it. 😎

I'm really interested to see how iWeb works out. I've always been a major unix geek, and I've written all my html by hand for over 10 years now (my html editor of choice is vi 😀). For years with photos, I'd used my own custom scripts to resize images and generate html templates which I edited before uploading to my web space. But then iPhoto made the whole process so much faster (and better looking, to boot), that even I, a major control freak when it comes to the details of this stuff, ditched my homegrown system for iPhoto + .Mac. I'd love it if iWeb did the same thing for my generic web pages.

The tinkering was fun in my 20s, but now that I'm 30, I'd rather just get good results quickly and move on to other fun stuff instead of tweaking for hours. 😉

Cool, I got credit for my story submission! 😀 😎

Nice to see some updates - I actually just installed my brand new copy of iLife 06 a few days ago. Also, it's good to see that there is nothing too major with these updates - just little enhancements and tweaks to address some minor things. It's nice not having new software with a ton of bugs and glitches in it. 😉

I'm afraid I have to burst that bubble... I usually don't have any issues with Apple software updates, but this time, updating iPhoto led to a library that seems to have forgotten where its files are. All the thumbnails are there, but double-clicking them just leads to iPhoto "loading" the photo indefinitely. Same for all photos. However, dragging a photo to the desktop (making a copy) works fine, and then afterwards that particular photo will be viewable in the library. It was working fine with 6.0, so I'm assuming it was the update. I decided to rebuild my library (but my library is huge, so it's taken about 3 hours so far and it's still got about 1 hour left).

I'll report back when it's done, hopefully everything will be straightened out! 😛

[EDIT] Hmm, the time remaining jumped to 5 hours. And then iPhoto crashed. Trying again..

[EDIT 2] Relaunched, automatically rebuilt the thumbnail cache (took about an hour?), but then I found that the problem still existed in the last ~550 items. I copied them all to a temporary folder, deleted the folder, and then they were accessible again. Everything seems to be working now... very odd.

All 109.4mb downloaded in 80 seconds. Gotta love university connections 🙂

At home the download on my cable connection took 90 seconds. Cable rocks 🙂🙂
