Maybe it's "Casual Friday" at Cupertino and somebody forgot what they were supposed to be doing this morning...either that or the cleaner tidied away the post-it not stuck on the web-guys machine saying "Put iLife downloads live"...

....whats going on? this is madness!...I'm gonna go crazy...

Cheers...to be honest, at this very moment in time i'm considering closing it as an act of defiance against Apple's idea of time-keeping...but I don't think they or anyone else would really care....so I won't....

Good. It would have been a pity to have only visited your site once!

Come on Apple.... Is time standing still in Cupertino? (Maybe it's stuck in an infinite loop :D )

no iLife,

So I get in this morning and call the Apple SoHo store in NYC around 10ish, remember this is the big one, a flagship store, and I am told that they have not received and shipment of iLife yet. I was like "what?" "We're waiting for them" I'm told. OK, so I call J & R Music, the web site says they have them but after a phone call they have sold out already! Now its 12:30 and I just call Apple SoHo again and now I'm told that it was announced today and that they should be receiving it within the next 2-3 days. Ok, Apple product that was announced as being available last week but delayed, not available at an Apple store because they have not received shipment yet?! If I were Steve, I'd be pissed that my own store didn't have any copies to sell.

And on a side note, Apple has a history of releasing updates at 5:00 pm eastern on Fridays. I believe the past 2 OS updates have been Fridays @ 5. Maybe the bandwidth gets cheaper after 5.

No iLife in Soho for 3 days??!!

I called our Apple store in Wauwatosa and they told me shipments were en route, Fed Ex, and would be in the store this afternoon.

Maybe the Wisconsin store is replacing the Soho store as a Flagship store.

Just an observation, scan this page and you will see all of us are online, except iJon. That little brat is having a ball with his new toy. (Good for you, iJon)

Apple Stores & iLife

I called both Apple Stores in Michigan. One is saying it won't be in 'till Febuarary 4th, the other one says they have "No idea when it's coming in."

date formatting ...

Just to be clear, the proper way to abbreviate a date is year-month-date ... makes sorting by date much easier, and places the most pertinent information first instead of last. If "year" is not pertinent in context, month-date may be used. If "era" is other than AD in the current context, then that should be placed first. If greater precision than the date is required, hour:minute:second may be added afterwards.

All hopes of the world converting to both a common and usable pattern dashed, I suppose three-letter month abbreviations are a far sight better than numeric date representations.

I've been up since 3:30 am local time checking the site for a download button. Finally around 10:45 local time I called the Canadian Apple supportl ine and three different staff there were unaware that iLife apps were even going to be available for download.

I was really unimpressed. The biggest online event to happen on your wbsite all week and you didn't know about it? Boo.

Anyway if it doesn't become available for download by closing time, I'll just swing by the Apple dealer here and see if they have boxed copies lame as that sounds.

I wonder how many XP users wait up all night and spend all day hovering over their "refresh" buttons eagerly awaiting the new release of Windows Movie Maker?
