I must say, all these stories are quite unbelievable!
Apple Stores don't have iLife in stock, or don't even know when it's coming....
This software is the centre of the digital hub! Thus the centre of Steve's software strategy!
And you can't even get it ?!? (except iJon)

Im glad i wasnt the only one watching the police chase. Anyways should we start counting till 5pm est?

Heh, 20 cop cars vs a post office truck, how can you not enjoy the show. Hopefully COPS will replay the chase, it's funny watching an entire call center staff laugh when the truck did circles (literally) around the cop cars.

If noon pst comes and goes, 5pm est it is....just in time for Farscape!

humbug

bah...they're just trying to make the loonies among us (myself included) go out to our local apple store and pay for iLife. all i want is iPhoto 2!!!!

iDVD 3 a 2rd party DVD-R drive!

Check out http://xlr8yourmac.com/

Aparently, iDVD 3 (like iDVD 2) will work with an aftermarket, internal DVD-R drive!

Now I just want to hear that it works in a B&W with a G4 upgrade and I will shell out the $45 right away!

PS: It also didn't require iDVD 2 to be installed beforehand.

Isn't the Mac Community extraordinary

Tell me guys... How is it that in the MS world people are not expecting things like we do... I mean, couple weeks ago, everyone in this forum went banana asking for insights, devising, wondering, making comments about the MWSF 2003... GEEEE! WHAT AN EXCITEMENT...

Then Apple came with these Extraordinary announcements (soft, powerbooks, Safari) , then the PMacs were updated and... People are still excited...

I am so proud to be part of this community...

Long live Apple...

I'm bored, too.

I'm in Seattle and just drove around to a few places (CompUSA, etc.). Not only did these outlets not have it, they didn't know what I was talking about - but I did have fun driving the Saturn I bought yesterday!!

I called the Computer Haus, the apple retailer in traverse city michigan, and they said ilife will be in tuesday at the latest. I hope apple gets it up soon cause its too damn snowy to go to the grocery store downtown farless travel a half hour to get ilife. I'll buy it for idvd eventually but i'm impatient!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just went to the Apple Store @ Roosevelt Field, NY-it's there. They have piles of it. What a beautiful site! I am installing mine now!

Did they mean Jan 31 2010....

I am getting so bored, I skipped class- thinking I'd be able to get all the updates before I have to go to work at 6:00pm est, but Apple is just sitting on their hands.

What is going on with these guys- it's not going to influence my decision to purchase iLife by holding out- I don't have a superdrive, but if I could use an external dvd burner I'd buy iLife in a second.

Being in Canada, getting software for the mac is difficult- there are no Apple Stores, and all the dealers get stuff weeks after it comes out. I'm not sure how hard it would be for Apple to ship their products a couple weeks early- maybe throw in a couple t-shirts and say don't release these till January 31.... if they really get picky have random audits, make the dealers sign an agreement... I dunno. Apple needs to be more definte about dates when it comes to software. Hardware is understandable, it's harder to make, harder to distribute...but common ...cd's? It would probably be faster for me to download iLife off some guy using limewire.

Well, I'll be here waiting :p We should have a giant iChat discussion going heh :p

.Mac Connection Quote

sorry I know I'm posting alot.... forgive me:
here is the quote I got in the mail...

"On Jan. 31, iPhoto 2 and iMovie 3 will join iTunes 3 as free downloads available at www.apple.com. iDVD 3 will also be released, and all four applications?bundled under the name iLife?can now be ordered on CD and DVD for $49.00. iLife is also included on new Mac computers."

That cnet story was totally useless. Of course people are bitching they have to pay for idvd, people always complain about spending money, but i think we all belive its worth it. I dont mind the delay in the retail box, but i would like to see the downloads when they were promised. Is it just me or overall does cnet seem to be slightly anti-mac?
