My phone mysteriously went missing the other day and my roommate turned up with a brand new iPhone (8 gig too). I noticed the same air bubbles under the screen that my phone had.

I'm thinking of calling ATT and getting my iPhones IMEI number and then cross checking that with his phones IMEI.

Any other help would be appreciated.

You should really do background checks before you move in with some one :) BTW, get him to show you his receipt :)

ok I have the IMEI and Serial number on my iTunes from backups. Is there any way he would be able to change these? He is not very tech savvy so I am guessing no but he did downgrade the firmware for T-Mobile.

CAUGHT HIS ASS RED HANDED! Took a screenshot of his settings with his serial and IMEI

How did you get the phone from him anyway? You just going to call him out on it or call the cops? It was really dumb to steal from a roommate. What's his IQ, 15? Reminds me of a story I read on another forum. Some kid lived in a dorm and had his 360 stolen. He still had a controller and pressed the Xbox button and it just so happened that the controller connected to the 360. He did a little searching and found out who stole it. People shouldn't steal, but if they do they should at least be smart about it. Good job though.

Call the cops, explanation for that would be interesting.

"Yes, oinker, I found an iPhone when I was looking for some cash in my roommates wallet."

:p

You'd be surprised how many problems a baseball bat can solve.... ;)

But it creates soo many others if you don't bring several hundred square yards of visquene and a loud radio to drown out the noise.

Edit: Darn it, getting tabs mixed up.

oh and yes please do tell us what happened! hehe careful now.. he might stab you over it.. you never know.. the iphone has a strange hold on certain people.

seriously dude.. do be careful when you confront him about it.

hope he wasn't someone close to you.. that would seriously suck

This is the most retarded story I have ever heard - even better than that last one where the thief put in his contact info into the original owner's MobileMe account. Don't confront him yet, it may disappear - just call the cops.

OMG, I fear lest he use a pillow on you while you're asleep one night.

Please, do be vigilant!

I do hope your roommate isn't at uni or some sort of education establishment.

Clearly he isn't the sharpest tool in the draw.

Please update when you sort this out

Also remember, beatings last a few months, a criminal record lasts a life time :)

That's right !!!

Maybe he is a Gollum-kind-of-Guy. Now that he has his "new" prrreeccious iPhone, he'll do anything to protect it.

Anyways, i love to here the next chapter of this story (hopefully with a happy end). BTW his IQ must be far beneath 15 as stated before.

Call the police! If only for the evidence.

How did you know it was your phone? "Well quite apart from the whole IMEI thing, it had the exact same bubbles under the screen"

What an arse.
