even if there's a "pc fanboy", they arent as diehard as the mac fanboys who seem to think that using a mac somehow elevates them from the rest. its just so sad people trying to prove their worth by associating with certain companys products.

i'm a win/lin user. i hate macs and snob mac users. i dont' worship xp or linux or bill gates. i dont defend shortcomings of win/lin to death. heck, sometimes i criticize xp more than the haters criticize xp. i tasted mac before and didn't like it. win/lin allows me to tamper, do whatever i want to do with them. put it simply, i'm in charge, i have freedom when i'm with win/lin.

I respect your POV, was only wondering; if you detest Apple/Mac so much that you don't even use it anymore..why even bother to enter a Macforum????

You'd be of much better use on a Win/Lin forum, since you seem pretty intelligent IMHO.

They're Belgian. Who I suspect speak/write English better than you can French and Flemish :p

Why am I not amazed this thread is long-lived?

Oh...Flemish....hmm funny how Belgians insist on calling it Flemish...it's just Dutch with a cute accent.:D

But anyway....no excuse for such a grammar mistake...doesn't powerpoint have spell/grammar check?

I like their statement, "Windows, life without walls."

I'm guessing that doesn't include firewalls?

Most video production is done on Macs. In my opinion not a big deal.

ROFLMAO - what a load of bull.
As someone working for a mid-sized animation/post media firm I can tell you that other than single-suite FCP people it's typically PC when video things get done. Most post places have FCP suites, yes but it's there if the client wants it or this is how they bring in their stuff.
Any high-end stuff goes back to PC - since you sounded like someone knows CAD then gues what platforms Autodesk, Flame, Flint, Inferno, Stone etc are running on? What do you think, how many ten times more Avid sells on PC than on Mac? Hey, even the once custom-only Quantel uses PCs (even Windows ones!) now...

FCP is still mostly "video editor/producer/compositor & waiter"-type video tool, sorry. It's good, it's capable but it doesn't have any advanced system around it - best case it's mid-level but certainly not high-end, that's PC.

well I haven't seen another mac attack ad since they started these I'm a pc commercials.

Maybe microsoft blind sighted Apple and apple is waiting to respawn as it's team hardcore... sorry, I gotta stop playing call of duty 4

Mac person or windows person those attack commercials were annoying and I'm glad they're off.

watching better T.V.

Who knows. It's better than the two-ply partition that passes for OS X's "firewall" though.
I wasn't comparing firewalls, just merely remarking (albeit a bit sarcastically) on MS' slogan of Windows being "without walls".

But if comparisons must be made between OS X's built in firewall and Windows', neither of them are very respectable. A properly configured router is the best compliment to their default system firewalls.

Glad you found two operating systems useful. Unlike you, I don't buy into stereotypes nor do I hate other OS users. If you found something you like, compute with it :)

You wish.

If you're a hobbyist rendering pictures of something you're making yourself, I don't disagree. As part of a serious manufacturing process? No. There's a good reason why our design department - retooled a year ago - is 100% Windows.

Ours too however as far as calibration goes XP sucks big time, we must admit, I think.
Well, generally speaking it's a PITA to keep WSes calibrated when you have CRTs (they still own everything when it comes to colors) and you have to use calibration hw & sw in every few months to follow the aging of your monitors...

Hmmm...A Mac is being used at a windows convention. Did you stop to ever think that that so called "mac user" might be using Xp or Vista on bootcamp? I own a macbook and I use Windows XP more than I do OS X due to compatibility issues. Maybe he was just a developer who was giving a presentation and didn't work at microsoft? Or some apple fanboy took a picture of his own macbook or worse he used photoshop. I hope you do know that Windows is not a physical computer but actually a software, as opposed to the Mac which makes it's own software and hardware, they are self sufficent...very cult like.

I had the same thought, but come on. what's the point of using a mac on a microsoft presentation if you let it run xp or vista? but who knows... microsoft makes me lol

It's typical for Microsoft to try and create the illusion that Windows is the only OS for the PC, and this ad campaign fortifies that quite well.

This is what i say to that:

"I'm a PC" Ad Images Made on a Mac.

So what?

I see Microsoft ads on both macforums and the famous microsoft hater slashdot.

So what?

What I don't understand is that, why it's a subject of discussion? Microsoft hired an agency to make ads. Whatever the agency uses is THEIR business.

Isn't there something else important to discuss?

what so funny about the new im a pc ads is that you could tell ALL the people apart from Gates did it for the money , and pharrell's the biggest hoe of them all , trying to be hip with all his mac products and then flipping it hahaha

seriously i think a better approach for MS is to say listen , there's some thing that we are good at and some apple are good at and sell pc benefits , not get a bunch of over paid *******s to LIE

not a big deal at all

I gotta agree with a few people on here, this is hardly a big deal at all. I'm sure that most ad campaigns are made on Macs, and like one guy said, the Mac may have even been designed using CAD software on a PC.

Plus, its an ad agency and im sure that they aren't going to go to them and say, oh you cant use macs to make our ads.

Dont you remember seeing the photos of the apple production plant and there were PCs everywhere running the machines etc?

You honestly think just because an ad agency wins the microsoft account they're going to change all computers over to PC? Trying to find a PC in an agency (creative dept) is next to impossible. That's like saying the ad agency who handles the US Postal Service should never use FedEx, UPS etc.
