Still not as good as when Microsoft had a "security" page on their website describing the security benefits of Windows XP...and they used a stock photo image of a person sitting in front of a laptop...which happened to be a PowerBook. :)

I found this so hilariously funny that I looked up if I could find the picture. Does anybody know if this is it?

" I am PC and I use a Powerbook"........Goes to show that...aaaanything goes"with the Hasta La Vista people (although this was XP):D:rolleyes:

MMMM, not ver surprice

Ok do you know how the iphone is activate, by windows mobile device. the guy that activate my iphone show when the activation was running low..Mac, Microsoft need each other. srry thats how it works

silly goose...

I don't think that Microsoft (or many PC fanboys) really want to concede this. That's the point.

Hey, I'm happy with the reputation Macs have for being better for use in graphics and video. So in that context, no, it's not a big surprise or a revelation that Microsoft used an agency who has Macs.

But not everyone else is willing to admit that. For those who are fuss and argue about Macs' reputation for superiority in graphics and video, it is a bit amusing to see how Microsoft—Microsoft of all companies—had to use an agency who used Macs, (because after all, Macs dominate that field). What rationalization will some of the PC fanboys give for that? :D

Well first of all I don't think there really are any PC fanboys out there. Mac fanboys just use it to fire back at PC users who ridicule them for being mac cult members. People who use PCs really aren't die hard fans of microsoft (most people really don't care much for large corporations) they usually just care about productivity and getting the best bang for their buck. PC users never really deny the fact Macintosh computers are mainly for graphics design not really more than that. Macs are tools and ever since the failure of the power pc chip Mac got smart and switched to intel where it gained performance and stability. And I think you answered your own question as to why Microsoft used a company which used Macs. Keep in mind I am a mac user but I run XP via bootcamp.

Incorrect...

lucky for you there is not a direct correlation between wealth and intelligence.

Ahhh...actually there is. Studies show the wealthy are usually educated and come from family backgrounds where both parents went to college and pursued professional careers. This makes it more likely for the children to go to college. The reason why rich people are rich is because they are smart, or dumbass entertainers. I didn't mean to sound like a snob. I was just trying to make a point to my Panamanian brother that Macs are expensive and not worth getting if you have to save money in order to get one.

Spoken like a true fanboy. The fact that corporate IT departments don't buy Macs doesn't mean they aren't any good for running word processors and spreadsheets - which is what most PC users actually do with their Windows boxes when they aren't playing games.
Macs are tools and ever since the failure of the power pc chip Mac got smart and switched to intel where it gained performance and stability.
Switching to Intel gained performance, most because IBM stopped caring altogether and Apple doesn't buy nearly enough chips to make IBM pay attention.

As for stability, that has always been the software, not the choice of CPU. My PowerMac G4 and iBook G4 almost never fail. I think I've had less than one kernel panic per year on those systems. Mac OS X is, for the most part, more stable than Windows. Sure, you find an occasional bad driver or an upgrade gone bad that leads to a lot of crashes until the problem is fixed, but that is common to all operating systems on all platforms.

YES, oh YES THERE ARE.

Take a peek at YouTube. Look up "Mac vs PC." Yes, there are a LOT of PC fanboys. PC fanboys who hate to admit that Apple computers are good for anything.

To be fair, there are just as many Mac fanboys, who are just as bad.

But to say there are no PC fanboys? *sputter sputter* You need to get out more! I have known a few people in real life who are almost as zealous as the YouTube variety of PC fanboy.

I am a Mac user, but I also use Windows in Bootcamp. Mac OS X is my preference, but Windows is useful too. I don't generally do a lot of hardcore Windows-bashing. But there is no question that there ARE PC (and Mac) fanboys who hate to admit anything good about the other platform. It must be killing some of the PC fanboys to learn that MS hired an agency which used Macs! LOL.

Come on guys!

Oh come on there is nothing new about this. Just watch Pixar movies the making programmers/designers interviewed with a PC in the background. I love my mac but I admit that it is not a complete package.

see attachment and weep!

i know it is to show Mobile Me works on PC too, but I would have limited it to simply mentioning:
...oh yeah and it works on a pc too...

instead they give all examples on that pc.....baffles me, really!!!

nooo frigging Vista sore sight to my eyes in nooo Apple guided tour please ( i know VERY lame;) )

I'm a pc fanboy, but I hold myself back when surrounded my mac maniacs (had to learn to do that when my best friend went mac).

windows is just an OS, not a machine keep in mind.

But being a windows user with a best friend using mac, I got to like garage band and a few small things about OS X and invested $50 for my 700 mhz imac g3... and thanks to problems with this machine (never had a computer without problems) I was led here.

Although I do wish Mac would allow OS X to be put on any machine like windows, but whatever (I got flavors :p biotchs)

Loving XP, Vista, Os X, Linux and computers in general,
-Tyler
P.S. I hope I didn't bash on your parade, and if so, then I'm sorry.

It's not really a big deal though, considering some people actually examine these files lol.

Anyway, it's still ironic that it's an "I'm a PC" ad... while they fail to deliver the message to their marketing agency...

You can't deny that the major selling factor for Macs is that it looks pretty, and it makes pretty things; not its usefulness for business. Companies might adopt Macs instead of PCs if they wanted to overhaul their image.

even if there's a "pc fanboy", they arent as diehard as the mac fanboys who seem to think that using a mac somehow elevates them from the rest. its just so sad people trying to prove their worth by associating with certain companys products.

i'm a win/lin user. i hate macs and snob mac users. i dont' worship xp or linux or bill gates. i dont defend shortcomings of win/lin to death. heck, sometimes i criticize xp more than the haters criticize xp. i tasted mac before and didn't like it. win/lin allows me to tamper, do whatever i want to do with them. put it simply, i'm in charge, i have freedom when i'm with win/lin.
