All forgotten we got our own back in the war of 1812. Even took over the White House and shot it to pieces:)

A few British troops (most were fighting Napoleon) , Canadians including alot of French ones and native americans.:eek:

Actually only in the last year or so have there been U.S. style ceremonies for people who become naturalised British Citizens, with oaths or allegiance on the constitution (which there isnt really one anyway).

Before this it was here is your passport...........er......um :eek: ENJOY:eek:

Come to think of it this term "British Citizen" is not true, we are actually subjects of the Queen.

If you compare whats written in a British and US passport. If you get into a fix abroad you get the state department, Condolezza et al charging round.

With us the Queen gives them a stern talking to:mad:

I love the Beatles. but it's hard to find somebody that doesn't like them. especially if you were brought up with Beatles records playing in the background. When I got into music years ago I remember just playing those olds song, originally for nostalgia's sake but later because I was entranced by the unique style of the Beatles playing. That semi-classical, semi-rock and roll guitar playing style.

oh! little thing. back in the 60's when my dad was a kid, John Lennon accidentally knocked in him making him drop his ice cream! so he bought him a new one. happy days.
 
One thing I don't get though, is how America has the cheek to limit immigrants when it's built up of immigrants. and why the native Americans aren't running the show. after all, its their bloody country!

oh. use bloody a lot too. and arse. but never together. never.

I know fella, just teasing. I think Lunar caravans are made over Preston way? We do build an insanely huge number of caravans in the East Riding though, so you might be right...

You mean the original post? I don't find it offensive, as although I am British, I don't feel I conform to the OP's weakly-founded definition of Britishness. I find it fairly amusing really (oops there I go, saying "fairly"...)

Yeah, he's just taking the mick. Nothing offensive about taking the mick cause there's no malicious intent and nothing inherently wrong involved.

Face it, it was really the Canadians that did this, even though most of them were made up of the french ones, who aren't really all that Canadian anyway. :p
