Get it replaced?

You know what, i'm actually really surprised that my first iPhone 3G ON LAUNCH DAY is perfect.

I am pretty sure I have no pixel problems, screen looks great, etc. Currently testing the battery but I'm pretty sure it's normal.

mciarlo, are you sure you didn't do that yourself? I'd probably get it replaced but over the life of the phone it's gonna get all beat up anyways...

Went to AT&T Store Monday 7/14 ordered, was told 7-21 days, ok at least no lines. Tracking said shipped Wednesday 7/17, picked it up today. My Daughters bought the same time, hasn't shipped. Long story made short, Mint,no issues, simply perfect, full strength signal in the house. VERY,VERY Happy!:D:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

I'm positive. As you can tell by the lack of dust, I baby my phone.

I just got back from the Apple Store to replace my iPhone 3G with the bubble. The service is great there, the guy told me that the client is always right here. That Genius was more than a Genius. He saw the bubble and give me a new one, asked me to inspect it.... AND THERE IS ANOTHER BUBBLE! Smaller but still a bubble.

So I decided to keep it. If that one had a bubble, the stock in store probably have it all. So I decided to wait and see what Apple will do. I will call Apple Care just to tell them. I'm not worried with the 1 year warranty. And if I'm not alone, Apple will have to react.

We'll see...

I just realized that there's another problem on the left side of the phone. There's a bump that sticks out above the rest, it's like whatever material the rest of the back was made out of got drizzled a little onto the side. It's weird, it's completely solid on top of the case. I didn't realize that before because it blends in with fingerprints and anything else that gets on it. I guess that's the final thing to get me to exchange it, once it's in stock. I just hope that the next one has a screen that's the same or better than what I have now, along with it not having so many flaws.

Sarcasm?

The reason I'm so apprehensive about returning it is:

1. The drive length (30-40 minutes)
2. Not a guaranteed replacement.
3. What if the replacement is worse? Other than the bezel, my current phone is great.

i personally wouldnt replace it for that, its nothing really :apple:

I have to ask myself, would steve jobs be happy with my phone. The ring/silent switch doesn't click in both diretions like my wife's, my screen is way too yellow, and the lower left corner black plastic sticks out past the metal bezel so you can feel an noticeable rough edge. As maniacal as SJ is, why do we get criticized for being the same way?

Took my phone to the nearest Apple Store (about 40 minutes away) and they told me my iPhone was within spec and did not warrant replacement.

Even after a few defects, and only one that truly bothered me, the slightly chipped off Apple logo, I decided right there in the store before I reached the Genius Bar not to exchange it. Why? I've seen five different iPhone 3G screens including mine, and mine is just a lot better than every panel I've seen. The first that I personally got was too yellow and lacked a decent contrast ratio and vibrance, which is what I exchanged the second that I got my phone. From what I saw in the store, the panels were either lacking vividness and sharpness and some were a little too saturated. I didn't see one that looked as great as mine, so instead of taking a chance, I can deal with a few small defects as long as I get the best screen, which I definitely have. It's not too yellow at all, the vibrance and vividness is absolutely perfect, whites are pure and blacks are deep. I really have no complaints with the screen I have now. It's like the difference between all of the TVs you see in a store. Compared to every iPhone 3G I've seen, mine has the best screen by a noticeable amount, and that's a huge deal to me.
