Holy S*** guys. give it up.

Whats wrong with getting our hopes up for Front Camera. Isn't this site about rumors, facts and little bit of hope.

I'm sure we will start to see "What I wish for in Ver. 3 iPhone" shortly after the release of V2.

My thoughts exactly.

Remember guys, it's Macrumors, not Macfacts. And this has got to be the biggest rumor about the iPhone 3G right now.

two things

1) A rebuttal does not count as a flame, and it sounds stupid to say "OMG WHAI DU U FLAIM ME!" every time someone disagrees with you.

2) I think it is ridiculous when people say "you never know what Steve will do" because Steve does not run the entire company by himself, and although he may be the face of the company, he is only one person. I think the correct thing to say would be "you never know what Apple will do".

It's interesting how people at the top of the ladder always receive the recognition for the work of the entire company or organization... except in this case, the great Steve is never blamed when things go wrong or kinda crappy.

Don't get me wrong, I love Apple, and I love Apple products.

Note: Apple products, not Steve Jobs products.

On a lighter note, I think a front facing camera, although unlikely, would be a cool feature.

oh of course! apple would want to keep such a feature a secret. They want people who were begging for a front facing camera to not buy the phone, but they want to give it as a bonus to all those who do buy the phone. Right on the ball, good job finding this proof in a third party case!

in a more serious tone Apple has put another proximity sensor on the phone and that elongated hole is for said sensor. This has been discussed many times.

So... to the OP: please request for your thread to be closed and wasteland'd.

Your telling me tuffluffjimmy's above post isn't a flame?!?!?!

The iPhone was announced on June 09 with no front facing camera.

The thought that Apple could change it's mind, modify the 3G design to add said camera, make all the necessary manufacturing changes needed, and then manufacture all the iPhones needed for a July 11 launch is ludicrous.

The thought that the iPhone 3G has a front facing camera but Apple has intentionally hidden this feature is theoretically possible, but would be incredibly stupid, and from what I've read on these forums Apple is generally not a stupid company. BTW, this would also mean that the first few phones seen and demoed by the media had to be modified to hide the camera and place a bogus sensor in its place. Seems like a lot of work to hide a new feature.

This thread was not started to debate the merits of a front facing camera, it was started to claim that there was a good chance the 3G would have one, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. And now all responses saying there is no new camera are labeled "flames."

ANNOUNEMENT: despite the fact that I have no evidence to support this, I declare that the iPhone 3G will have a front facing camera, be available in a red 32GB version as well as black/white 8GB and 16GB versions, and will be sold unlocked to anyone without a contract for $199.99. Anyone who disagrees with any of the above is an ass.

Nice lol,
but I think it would be nice to have a front camera but i think it is very unlikely.

P-71, I was wondering if you could get SR-71 to play at my sister's graduation party? Bring R2D2 if you can too, there will be watermelon and pie.

Well considering LG is selling a 3G phone with video calls now (I saw a AT&T commercial today) I'm kind of disappointed that there is no feature like that on the iPhone.
I guess Jobs is just greedy and decides to milk the same cow basically twice.

I have no use for the rear facing camera never mind a front facing camera - besides why would they hide it - those of you who think it might happen .... how do you guys in the states put it..... lay off the kool-aid?

:)

Sorry folks, but when posters start attacking each other over conjecture of a rumored/unannounced feature on the iPhone then it's time for the discussion to end.

Cool off, take a few deep breaths, and let's wait a couple weeks until it's released. :)
