What happened to the always on Hey Siri/A10 Chip?

I have resources to splurge on one of these, but I think it would be overkill, would rather use the money to buy some Apple Stock.

Mz guess: 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD with 8-core CPU and the smallest GPU available.
If anyone really believes that $4999 will offer a desirable model, think again.

EDIT: OK. Minimum seems to be 32GB RAM indeed.

Such a bad value proposition compared to Mac Pro’s 5,1 and lower. Sure hope this bombs to send a message to Apple.

What sucks is that if this bombs, Apple will be done with the Pro market because these days they're so much more about profit than innovation. They have transformed into a fashion brand. They will interpret the iMac Pro's poor sales as nobody being interested in Apple's pro machines, instead of them just happening to make (another) flop that nobody can even afford.

Didn't take long for the Apple haters to show up in the thread.

More like Apple Disappointees, constantly being disappointed by the pro offering as a pro and not a makeshift home pro - moonlighting as such. I don't know any pro who want's to spend that much money on system which isn't updatable. I made that mistake once with the MacPro and have had problem after problem. To this day I cannot run any third party display without running into issues. Even their "supported" monitors like the Dell 5k is glitchy as F. Not good enough. My last system cost almost 8k. Great value for money there. NOT.

Exactly what I thought. Should be bluetooth 5.0 now, especially in a $5K iMac...

I really thought Apple wouldn’t be bean counting with this $5K iMac, but not only that bugs me, it is crazy that they don’t include the Space Grey Magic Trackpad. It is listed as „optional“ on their website

This is SO the new Apple - phones with no phone jacks for $1K+, laptop computers with no ports for $2K+, desktop computers with ports for $5K+. Dongles and wireless earbuds to replace missing ports ... I need a new iMac, but not at this price. I'll have to make do with a model with small SSD + 5000 rpm HDD, perhaps 16GB of RAM - likely $3K+. This is a nice computer, but the price is prodigious.

Good God....
I don't NEED it, but boy do I WANT it.

My 2011 MacMini is still going strong and suits my needs for what I do with a computer. Some slowdown with MS Office, but who uses a Mac for Office, am I right? That's what my work-provided HP laptop is for... *sigh*

What year do you guys think this iMac Pro will be rendered "obsolete?" I don't mean by Apple's standards, but by the standards of not being able to handle tasks and get the frequent, dreaded beachball icon...2040? Seriously.
