I went to Apple store today and I was told that they received an e-mail, saying that new iMacs will coming in about a month. What surprised me was that there would be 30' iMac .
Apple never pre-releases info about upcoming items to its stores, and even if it did, it would never use a medium as insecure as email to do so.

iMac

I hope Apple keeps the 17 inch iMac as the cheap educational model. I know there is the mac mini but after years of all -in -one Macs some schools have grown very fond of their iMacs. My school went from SEs to 475s to 5400s to imacs (G3) to emacs.

When iLife does come out they have to have a dog and pony show. Remember how much Steve liked to show off iLife 06. They would have to do one of those things where they rent the San Jose Performing Arts Theatre or on of the halls in SF. In which case I could see them introducing a few things at once. Like a new iMac and an iphone software update or a mac mini and an ipod nano update.

When Leopard comes out it can't be just a press release either. But certainly we don't need to see a demo of its features again (unless there really are some secret features), so i almost expect to see something for the press at one of these halls again. Perhaps apple will save something else to release to grab some headlines. Could be iLife or an iPod.

It seems like MacWorld and some of the next intel chips will make a convienent intersection next January. My guess is the Mac Pro gets a face lift and goes all quad. New mobile puters could be announced then too.

i wonder if the ipods will have larger capacities.... anyone give an educated guess? My 60gb can't hold all i want, and i don't want to upgrade to an 80 if something bigger is around the corner. i don't think i could care less about the extras, i just want to carry and listen to my music.... though i'd probably be talking different when the extras are released ;)

i hope they do the iMac as a 17-20" then iMac Pro at 20-30" for a lot of people especially as a family computer the 17" is a perfect solution. i can't see them dropping it any time soon, i do see a prospect of a quad core processor being an option for the pro line though upgradeable to 4gigs ram

I can't play audio where I am right now - what does it say?

A guy phoned in to say that he was the source of the rumour that ThinkSecret reported and that it was just to reveal how shaky their sources/stories are.

LOLZ:D TS's credibility is now COMPLETELY shot. MR, don't put anything from TS again.

LOL. :) MacRumors has always been the best source of rumors. I should send TS a false report stating that "I work in the maintenence department of Apple, and I overheard someone talking about Apple buying out Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Myspace, Sun, and Novell. And, I also heard something about an ultra-thin, ultra-light, flash-based, widescreen touch screen, brushed aluminum, 8-core, Core 2 Extreme-based ultramegasupertinynanowidescreensubnotebook."

They would probably post it. :)

yea

I agree with that,I really need a new ipod since my itunes library just hit 70+ gigs of music but, I just bought an iphone so I don't need all the extra stuff, just a larger hd and maybe a touchscreen would be nice. Hopefully they will be 100gigs and come out the same time as the imac's.

Which means .
They are not shipping 24-inch iMacs until Tuesday, perhaps because there will be a rev in the 24 on Tuesday. The 24 has a bigger chassis than the 17 or 20, even if made slimmer, so it is the best candidate to use hotter (non-mobile) cpu and gpu and to sport a new design and maybe aluminum case.

My money is ready. Be nice if they did a media release but if its just a new shell and nothing else super special I guess a Tuesday release would do.
