What is the expected life of the iMac logic board? I am almost afraid to buy one because of the tight enclosure keeping heat inside. Have been holding off on a new Mac purchase until a headless Mac arrives

Expected life expectancy is decades.

God, everyone's gonna be so disappointed when they just get a slight bump in specs with the same case...

Or, if they just take the word 'new' off the iMac page... Cannot believe that's still there, nearly a year later...

I'd be really chuffed actually. I love the current design! I just want 2 gig RAM standard, exapandable to 4 and a 500gig hardrive!

If it is just a speed bump I am just going to get it. I can't deal with all this hanging around.

Me too! I love the current iMacs; I just refuse to pay top dollar for year old tech; 2gig RAM and a chunky hard drive would do me lovely!!

Very interesting. When it's down, it usually just won't work for a short time. This time it has an updating notice and has been down for a while.

Apple Canada store down too!

In addition to the U.S. store being down, the Canadian store at apple.ca is down as well. It also says it's updating!!!

I personally am not crazy about a revision as I JUST got an 20" imac 1 month ago... oh well, such is life!

Some crazy guy told me once that Apple used to be a company that actually sold computers once!....as if, eh?

Nothing new

The site is back up and nothing new but some iPhone accessories, and a minor layout tweak.

The rumoured announcement is only a week away though so we'll hopefully find out soon
