iMac sept 12 release?

I think that's a bit unrealistic even though I wish they be out in the next minute. But idk tuesday seems very unlikely at least in my opinion. Theres an event happening the 12th of this month maybe then?? But I know we're less than 60 days from seeing the new iMacs for sure
 
Don't underestimate Apple's urgency to get iMac out before the end of Back to school. Education is a legacy market that is very important to Apple

If they release it before the end of back to school, they can effectively provide another discount to hold-out educational buyers of the current gen iMac.

Also, if they release the iMac in the wake of the iPhone, it won't get any press. So now or never!
 
I'm glad we are finally in september and can start speculating on a release date.

Somehow I have a good feeling about tomorrow. Its tuesday one day after labor day. It's well ahead of the iphone release. If they release the imac around the iphone release it won't have a spot on the website, since the iphone will need to eat up the main page for a few weeks. A week of imac front page is probably sufficient.

ANyway, just speculation, but I feel we are closing in on the release date now, since the imac 27" is pretty much dried up everywhere - even apple stores. Can't stay like this for a month ?

He never said split release. If you read macrumors article it says that 27" will have later release but probably you can buy them both at once, but the delay delivery date will happen quickly as they cannot deliver the same amount.
But I guess that means almost the same :D

just release the god damn things so I can order and they can spend a month before sending it to me, I dont care :)

haha yeah, that could also happen :D ..perhaps if we order fast enough we get one in sept :rolleyes: ..

Maybe someone should start a futures market for iMacs. :)
 
Idk, I think Tuesday its again wishful thinking. I mean I hope they would have release it today for all I care. But idk. DOING have a gut feeling that with event so near apple might just release them then it doesn't matter if it's an iPhone event or not anything could happen just like it could be release tomorrow. And yes I hope the 27inch are release at the same time if not I'm gonna flip sh!+

I don't think they'll release it on the same day as the iPhone introduction. It'll probably be earlier, so that at least for a short while they can have a big "NEW IMAC!1!!!!1!" thing on the homepage. Then again I've been deluding myself for nine months…
 
I wish they would go back to a 24" model.

The current 27" is just too big for my desk space.

Just a thought, but if they reduced the bezel size and got rid of the chin, do you think they would increase the Imac screen sizes to 24" and 31"

I have both a 2007 24" and a 2009 27" and I don't even see much of a difference in desk space taken up. I think the only difference is the 27" is about 3" wider !!!!!! However the screen resolution is far better on the 27".

The existing screen resolution of my 2009 27" is fine, I am just wanting a new 27" iMac with far better graphics capabilities and faster processor. The main reason is to run Xplane 10 which is Graphics Power hungry. On my existing 27' iMac I can only run one external monitor so hoping the new model is like the current one and has at least two Thunderbolt ports. Have two 23" monitors sitting waiting to plug into it LOL. Hoping they come out soon but have plenty other things to keep me occupied so managing to get by. Still have a daily look on MacRumours to see if there is any fresh news :)
 
Where´s the new iMacs?

My old iMac is getting really slow and I´ve been looking to update it. I would like to buy a new iMac now, but it´s been 489 days since the last iMac. How can this be? Always the refresh has been around 280 days.

I really don´t want to buy an old iMac at this point.

The curious thing, to me, is the availability of the high end 27". It's 10th of September in almost every store where it's sold out...

Not available in the Seattle area, just the i5 27" is in stock.
 
not before September 21st

I don't think new iMacs will show-up before September 21st. The back to school promo ends on that day and introducing new iMacs during the promo would be weird - I guess they would first want to get rid off the old iMacs to make as much profit on the old gear and only then introduce new iMacs; maybe even 2 weeks after September 21 (I think that's the deadline for returning purchased iMacs is).
