The Newstand app is as empty and useless as always! Maybe they'll stop treating us like children and finally let us delete these useless apps.

I REALLY like the look of it. I think it looks great and doesn't really look like the newer version of Microsoft to me.

It's the same damn thing we've been using, just fuzzy/grainy/dark image. This is NOT anything new we are looking at.

----------

Can't they take a better picture for christ sake. Ugh.

No, because it doesn't show anything new and someone wanted desperately to make the front page of MR, which is apparently incredibly easy. They also could have easily taken a screen shot on the phone itself, so yeah total fake.

iterative, iterative, iterative. the icons look really good imo. apple's version of flat design.

I'm looking forward to this a bit:

J Ive

Apple can't be that stupid. Why bother putting Jony Ive in charge of the interface design when flattening/de-skeuomorphing the current icons is something any of their designers could've handled? This "leak" also contradicts the rumblings of a black/white theme that surfaced recently. Granted, just because the icons themselves aren't b&w doesn't necessarily mean the app interfaces won't be, but STILL. What a half-ass effort. This has to be a fake, or a joke.

No rumor said it would get a complete make over. The rumors clearly stated it would be flatter and more consistent. This picture shows both of those. No more gloss, no more borders, much sharper looking. If you were expecting live tiles, you were clearly expecting to much.

And I don't debate that - but as I stated, most people are expecting/wanting a more substantial makeover than this screenshot displays.

----------

You realise it's fake, right?

There's compelling arguments on this thread to support it being fake or authentic. We'll find out next week how accurate it was!

So it sort of sounds like iOS7 is simply going to be a "flat" theme with no real changes to how the operating system operates?

I really hope that isn't the case...I was hoping for a new take on the home screen (maybe keep classic grid as an option).

I feel sorry for you iOS guys. A $1 theme app for Nova/Apex launchers on Android does a better job then this. And the basic outline looks the same; icons lined up as a grid.

I feel sorry for you, for not having any taste. Seriously.

While he isn't entirely right, he is partially right. Apple is going to claim how groundbreaking iOS7 is when it's mostly just going to be a new theme. I really hope I'm wrong.

for ones bitching about the image being not aligned with the frame, just to remember that those apple guys test iphones disguised of dark boxes, on dark pubs, they have orders just to take photos with cheap qvga phones for reporting.
also they carry dark glasses and sht

It was called a joke. But it is a bit strange that the only leaks out of iOS 7 are about the icons.

A joke? If you didn't mean that statement seriously, why are you still defending it?

And assuming this isn't a fake (big assumption), it's the first and only leak of an iOS 7 image. It's not strange at all that a single leaked image is going to only show one thing. iOS 7 has nothing announced and hasn't gone to public beta yet, if this is a fake then we haven't seen anything at all of it.

Apple has way bigger problems in iOS than the looks of the icons.

And the icon designers aren't going to be the ones to fix those bigger problems. It would really make more sense to have them sit around and do nothing instead of working on icons while the actual programmers fix the other issues?

the rumblings of a black/white theme

There were never rumblings of that. Particularly anything about all icons going to black and white. They'll probably take out the yellow "notepad" background, but that's different than making everything black and white.

So it sort of sounds like iOS7 is simply going to be a "flat" theme with no real changes to how the operating system operates?

Nope. We don't know anything yet, and a single blurry screenshot tells us nothing about how it operates. Maybe there will be big changes to functionality, maybe not. We'll all find out next week.

yes, and you forgot the couple new 3rd party background functions that they will now "allow" for The flattest groundbreaking most innovative operating system in the world yet!

I joke but i hope i am wrong.

The screen doesn't line up at all, the text is cropped from the bottom of the dock (but still present on all other icons), and it's too blurry.

Fake.

Expect more dramatic changes in the icons.

Who's going to be the first here to find out what Winterboard theme this is?

The dock icons at the bottom have no labels, that's Springtomize, the blank row at the top, probably Gridlock or iBlanks...

Black and White as in the systems UI. The Titles bar and menu buttons NOT the home screen. Rumors state the home screen is going untouched with the exception of cleaned up icons and a panorama wallpapers.

I wish, just an option to at least hide useless icons, I don't need news stand or stocks etc..

April fool's was 2 months ago.

----------Could be just me, but it looks like it reads "cock" below the app on the 3rd row. ;)

Taking the gloss and texture out of the icons, especially Phone and Messages, make the icons look unfinished, they should just make new ones, not remove parts of the design. Settings on the other hand, looks fine without gloss.
