I understand the reasoning. I am just saying the aesthetic is more pleasing. I haven't much cared for faceid since its onset. It unlocks with my watch about as much as my face anyway lol (which was a lovely addition). If I had my way, fingerprint reader in the glass or even on the back of the phone. More elegant IMO.
 
Face ID works some of the time on my iPhone 13 Pro Max 2TB with iOS 15.6.1. Then the watch kicks in or I get to enter the pass code. That is just an annoyance for me, not a deal breaker. After all, the COVID masking clobbered Face ID pretty good for a couple of years. That does not even show up as a problem in my world with all the other stuff hitting the fan, so to speak.
 
Everyone’s talking about the pill shape. I just hope the 15 is a nice upgrade for us 12 and 13 owners because the renders of the 14 are not in the least bit exciting. “New notch”. Yeah. Have my $2k. And for the groupies, that’s sarcasm.

Well Apple should have just did the under screen fingerprint reader, it would have worked just fine with a single oval pill shape hole for the front facing camera since they wanted to still be different with the type of holes they get into. FaceID is not needed now :p:p

I know I'm an unusual case, but I'm happy for FaceID because fingerprint readers don't work well for me. I've always had crummy fingerprints!
 
This is pure comedy. Apple users hate the notch but now Apple do something about it ,changes the notch to the sideways i and people are like “nahhhhh, preferred the notch“

No matter what happens Apple will make it right. Years of R&D go behind before introducing groundbreaking features. Rest assured, iPhone 14 will not disappoint us. There was a report that Apple has ordered 100 Million iPhones from the supplier. It will outsell instantly!

Just like without the notch, iPhone is worthless, right? Apple fan here but heard it so much to ignore them sheepfanboys. Apple will turn this into a tiny pill shape over time and people will say hooray innovation while hating on Samsung for having it in the first place. People praised Apple for notch while talking smack about Samsung pill shape front camera. How the table has turned and tone has changed. LOL. Don't mind me, I just happen to give credit where it's due.

There's no doubt about it and Apple it make it much better overall. However, just wanted to highlight what fanboys have been saying over the years about the notch being x y z while table is turning now and everyone is like yayyy..

No, iPhone wouldn’t be worthless without a notch, but Face ID would be as worthless as everyone else’s. :)

I never hated on Samsung for having a pill shape and I’ve owned Samsung. Manufactures use different techniques for camera housing placement that works best for the rest of their hardware. iPhone uses a larger housing (filled with more tech) which make their Face ID the best out there.

I’m willing to use whatever notch, pill, i-Hole, star, clover or heart shaped hole they choose to use. Because I prefer a Face ID that works.

So let me guess, I am bitter, angry, not happy because I have different opinion than you and because I am able to disguise the difference and give credit where it is due? I am not sure who is more bitter and hurt about my opinions, good try but very cheap.

Bitter due to tone. This is a forum, of course it’s all about opinions. You were bitter because you assumed no one here gives Samsung credit for anything, or that everyone will praise Apple now that they have decided to use a pill/hole punch cutout.

Not many here are praising for any change and would prefer they keep the notch until it’s completely gone. I couldn’t care less, I’m still gonna use the phone as I always have and neither will bother me.

And I certainly don’t care if it looks similar to an older Samsung. Props to them for everything they contribute.
