That Apple tablet pic was real, however in the picture it's not showing the final design, so why would this be the final design of the iPhone? I still don't understand why if it had a removable back to get to the battery, Apple would include external access to the SIM.

It sure as hell looks thicker to me.

I thought this as well, but have a look at the headphone jack if it's 3.5mm then the phone will be much thinner than the current versions. At least that's how it looks to me when comparing the picture to my 3G.

The rumored release date for the next iPhone is June 22nd, that's 35-36 days away depending on how you count. The 22nd is a Saturday, this make me dubious.

I hope we get some news about something other than the new iPhone in the next month.

Looking at my 3GS this looks an awful lot thinner. Just look at the headphone jack, it looks huge, but it's relative to the sleep/wake button. To me this suggests that the phone is just much thinner.

THe strange logo might simply be a way to keep the device from attracting attention. TO make people think that it is a knock-off.

It's not just you but the reasons people post as to explain why this would be the case are so amusing. It's like everyone lies to themselves so they can believe or not believe.

The headphone Jack don't even look to be a regular 3.5mm. But what do I know.

If this device were outside, would you rather people get attained to it or not?

You might be right. This also could be all controlled leaks from the top. We'll know in June :)

Resembles the IPad.

It looks a bit like the ipad from the side with the squared off sides. If this is the new iphone, I like the look of it.

It wouldn't be taken out in public until absolutely necessary. And then it would be housed in a manner so as to not attract attention. Which is why it could be a prototype body.

Well the person who found it stated that it was inside the 3G case. Not sure what that means..

"San Jose bar inside of an iPhone 3G case."

That's not supposed to be a "final" iPad design. The sides were bolted down.

Also, you're assuming that, based off of the design, that the battery is supposed to be removable. That may or may not be true.

Macrumors just update the first page, now they are on Post #3 of this saga, all linking back to the original engadget articles.

The best part of this whole thing is the retractions we are going to start seeing of all the forum readers. Go back and read the first 8 pages of this thread before the iPad image was re-released....it's a laugh for sure.

If it turns out to be real, I'll toxx clause myself to saying it sucks. Doubly so if it has a removable battery.

If it IS real, I'll be pissed at Apple for making me have to spend extra on a case to hide the thing, and keep the battery in place :p.

I laugh at those who think people are changing their opinion. I haven't seen it. I still think it's a **** body.

I still don't trust Engadget. I'll laugh when the design is entirely changed and all you smug fools are wrong. And yes, still sick of these tabloids.

Please, for the sake of everyone else, learn how to take a picture that doesn't ruin the forum layout.

4g

I sincerely wish people would stop calling it the 4G iPhone. The "3G" in iPhone 3G (the second version of the iPhone, mind you) and iPhone 3GS referred to the 3G cell network. The new iPhone is not going to run on 4G networks. Perhaps "iPhone 4" is more accurate?

I don't really like 4G, but people use 4G to infer 4th Generation- iteration.

I think, iPhone 2,2 or 3,1 is better :D
