I'm sad that they went back to the "MacBook Pro" text. It looked cleaner before, like an iPhone.

Also, that keyboard looks suspiciously thin. I'm getting anxiety just looking at it.

Please tell me they wont have 2010 "MacBook Pro" text displayed on the computer.

Also please can someone explain what the issue with magsafe is. The terminals appear to need cleaning but why is apple so keen on droping it?

Except for the lack of MagSafe charging, you will want Thunderbolt 3. And you will want four of them.

Knowing Apple, they will give your new MBP four USB C ports.

My only concern is the keyboard. I don't mind the new mechanism or the short travel although longer travel would be preferred. My problem with my rMP keyboard is the keys alway getting stuck especially the space bar. I've never had a stuck key over 4 years with my rMBP.

Looks like the OLED strip has the TouchID sensor in its screen, so they found a way to include TouchID without the aluminium ring. This is sooooo exciting, since this technology will likely be found in the new iPhone! I'm really interested how they achieved this :)

Doesn't look like it's built into the OLED strip. Looks like a separate area. Turn your brightness up and you can even see it's a square-shaped sensor, separate in color to the rest of the strip.

Also, for those saying it looks too small, it doesn't look any smaller than the TouchID on my iPhone.

but is the machine going to be populated with the presently dreamy Mail, Safari, not to mention the bloated Music apps???

If you look closely at the right side of the toolbar, you notice a color difference in the black, which to me suggests that the Touch ID is not behind a functioning part of the OLED display, which would be really nice technology for the next iPhone. This is corroborated by placement of the "cancel" option, indented in from the left side, suggesting that the display area of the toolbar is receded about half an inch at each end.

Still cool. But still hoping they use those patents and that we lose the chin on the next iPhone.

As has been rumored, the touch panel, which may be called the "Magic Toolbar," appears to be contextual, changing based on what's on the screen. In the images, Apple Pay dialog is depicted, asking a customer to confirm a purchase with a finger on the panel. It appears Touch ID is built directly into the OLED panel, with no dedicated Touch ID button depicted.

Well. That's embarrasing... It not only gives away the Magic Toolbar, but also quite a bit of the new design of the Macbook Pro itself.

I've never understood the hatred towards the new Magic Toolbar. I think its going o be awesome!

It will be awesome, definitely. The naysayers will petulantly groan about it, of course. They'll spew their useless rhetoric about how they're going to buy a DELL XPS or get a ThinkPad. They'll scorn and mock and claim Apple are building Fisher Price computers.

The world keeps on turning, MR posters keep on moaning, and time will keep proving them wrong.

The details are very nice.
Can someone explain me where is the on/off button?
Isn't there a need for a physical button?
If you look closely at the toolbar, the thumbprint area is a tad darker- guessing its a button/touchID

Just posted the same thing. It's NOT built into the OLED strip. It looks EXACTLY like the TouchID on a matte black iPhone 7, with a small black border around a square TouchID sensor.

No idea why Macrumors is saying this is incorporated into the OLED strip, as even a moment's glance at the TouchID sensor would reveal it's clearly not. I hope they update the original post because it's just incredibly misleading (read: wrong).

Any chance that the Magic accessories will be updated with the MacBook Pro features? I'm especially looking forward to Touch ID integrated into the trackpad.
