Ok, I must admit, putting a TouchID sensor there is a pretty slick. I thought using an iPhone-type round TouchID sensor would not look good on a Macbook.

Yeah...but here's the problem. I have a 2013 MacBook and there isn't a single thing wrong with it. It's just as fast as it was on the day I got it...it's crash-free and I still like the way it looks.

So...what about people like me?

Damn you Apple.

Damn you to hell.

Well for people like you, it sounds like you don't need a new MacBook. And they may well offer the current gen at a reduced price. So what's the problem?

quick question about skylake vs kaby lake. Are people really complaining about a little spec bump? It doesn't seem that Kaby offers any improved battery life or noticeable graphic performance. I understand Apple should include the most updated tech but it doesnt really seem like there is much evolution between the two chip sets?

The rMBP hardware requires fans. It has to be thicker than the rMB. So why are people assuming they keyboard will be the same as the rMB?

So how do you change the brightness while doing an Apple Pay payment? :(
Obviously a critical use case. My concern is why is the cancel button not in the corner where esc should be? it is positioned halfway between keys for some reason...

What I may need to hear before I buy: "We have improved the feel of the butterfly keyboard." The features are clearly impressive. Plus this might be the model to get if you want the last model with a headphone jack.

I'm still disappointed that they are not gonna realease it with Kaby lake processors... hope that dont go and release it the following year after ive made my purchase.

Yeah I don't think they would have done that. Leaks pointed towards a square Touch ID scanner, but it's good that it's seemlisly integrated into the design of the Magic Toolbar.

You can tell by this image it has the butterfly mechanism. There's no height to them.

And Apple wouldn't create a new type of keyboard just to use with one product, whether you like it or not, it'll be the keyboard they always use now.

Are we sure? The Magic keyboard is also thinner than the old one. That I could live with. Butterfly...ugh. Not sure what I'd do.
I beg to differ: I can live with the butterfly mechanism. But thinner…? Ugh.

The mechanism is not the problem, it's the atrociously small amount of key travel that makes the rMB keyboard so terrible.

You don't.

This has to be on purpose. An uber secretive company like Apple simply wouldn't make this kind of 'accident'.

Anyway, I really want this, just need to know the price and what ports it has.
