Just crazy how the prices keep going up. Definitely glad I was able to get my phones unlocked for free.

Yeah, definitely the way to go if you are able to. Unfortunately for people like me, most of my inventory was AT&T phones and this was rather costly for me. Did the math yesterday though and I realized it was less than I anticipated.:)

Just hoping that these last 13 that I submitted over the weekend come through.

Thanks for the info.

Unlock Fusion price is $39.99, and I had them to unlock few of the iPhone 5 last year. I would rather stick with the same vendor... since I don't keep update for all these changes when I just have to do it once a year... and the game is keep changing...

Next year, I will make sure the IMEI unlock is easy... if not I will just go for fully unlocked version.

By the way, I have ordered the Gold 32GB fully unlocked on store.apple.com on first day of launch - 9/20, and I still haven't receive the shipment yet... it has been a month...

Ouch....why unlock fusion? They're starting at like 90 aren't they? Swiftunlocks, cellunlocker, and iDeviceguys are still in the 39-45 range. As far as those rules go, I don't think you can unlock a completely inactivated phone. I know replacement ones that you get from apple that are not activated can be unlocked but if it's completely 100% brand new, those aren't eligible. Blacklisted/Lost I think some like Sam just don't do as a matter of principle. If you look at swift unlocks, they'll do it but will tell you that they won't work on US networks.

And finally a bit of good news, it seems: The owner of ideviceguys posted this yesterday. His price is still 45 but it seems he's one of the more reliable unlocking sources:

Let's hope and pray for the best!

Could you update us when your unlock comes back?

I would do it for sure.

I placed 4 orders(Unlock Fusion $39.99 each) for 5s on Saturday morning ~8amEST, it will take 1-3days, if weekend doesn't count, it should be done by Wednesday.

Okay great. I will too. I placed 6 with Sam on Friday. 3 with iRescue on Saturday. 2 with Blowfish on Saturday. Then 3 more with blowfish on Sunday. I should add that I've used all of the above services before with great results. Hope this continues!

Hello, I just opened this account to be able to share my nightmare.
After searching the best option to unlock an iphone 5
GLOBAL UNLOCK, 10/8/2013 after reading here somewhere about globalunlock charging $19 I went with them, next day I received an email saying they prices are changed to $42. I had the option to cancel the order or to ad $23. I emailed to cancel and refound the money. I received a couple emails from them saying that the transaction was cancelled but no money been re founded, after 3 days I got one email with a link saying my phone has been unlocked?? I clicked the link which send me to their website showewed me a 000 number that is supposed to be my unlock cod. I contacted then several times asking for my money no answer untill 15/10/2013 after I contacted paypal to tell them was going on. Paypall told me to dont contact global unlock they ll do it for me. Untill today no money has been re founded.
SWIFTUNLOCKS, 10/9/2013 I tried them after canceling with global unlock.
10/14/2013 swiftunlocks canceled my ordern and re founded the money they. Couldnt handle to many orders.
CELLUNLOCKER. On 10/9/2013 I paid $39.99 for the 1-24 hrs processing time. On the third day I contacted them and tge were like at&t problems, our supplier bla..bla things that we already know, they told me to wait untill next day since then I ve been a priority/vip for
cellunlocker is what they told me, but each day my order was going to be ready at the the end of the day. Untill day before yesterday I received and email which says my they are working hard in processing my order and to wait untill monday or tuesday if not tgey will cancel and refound the money on tuesday.???? So its been a week already and nothing.
I asked them if its anything with my imei, phone etc.(clean imei) they said nothing wrong on my end. Its been an emergency cause my mom is already overseas for almost two weeks without a phone to use.
Whats going on with my luck? Guess I need to go to church more often.:(

Hey guys,
Today i s been 7 days since I paid $39.99 cellunlocker.net to unlock my iphone 5 clean imei and i s not ready yet.
Just you know if you want somebody faster dont go with them.

just got refunded from hackiphone.me

Not sure who to try next now.

Just had a co-worker with an ATT account going month to month try to submit my IMEI on AT&T's unlock form and it's giving back "Currently, this device cannot be unlocked." before even submitting, wonder if that has something to do with why I was refunded by the other unlocking services now.

Same here, just got refunded by hackiphone.me

This is what they told me:

Unlock Rejected. Reason: Source down. If you're getting this refund, means your imei was on the list rejected by the AT&T Unlock Source. You may reorder on new prices. Inconvenience is regretted.

I feel like some of these guys just want more money. Now I have to reorder with the new prices. Initially $39.99, now $49.99 for 1-5 days.

Need to find a better source.

Craziness

here is something ODD, I had an iphone 5 unlocked last year and now i just checked and it shows locked, I used this phone overseas, what happened?

Went to tmobile store by my house and sure enough it's locked wtf. How is this possible. My phone was unlocked for sure cause I have used other sims overseas. What happened

Well, put an order in with ideviceguys; so far no confirmation of order other than my paypal receipt...

Might just return my phone at the end of the week and buy one at full price at this rate.

It's possible to get locked again, where did you get your unlock from?

We have to get it unlock by doing fully firmware restore, and I think we have to do it again if the phone get lock again.

My guy in NY same place I got my other 7 lines done which are still unlocked

That is completely incorrect. Restore or not once your imeis unlocked is unlocked and shows an unlocked status regardless of what you have done with the phone

Your statement is correct but you have mention that you have used the phone oversea and now you tested it with Tmobile simcard and it doesn't work...

I got 3 iPhone 5 unlocked via Unlock Fusion last year, and I upgraded 2 to iOS 7 on day1, and 1 last Sunday, they all went to Tmobile users(friends) and working fine... I hope they will have no problem to upgrade to iOS 8 next year...

I just checked iPhone 5 x2 with this site, they both are still unlocked status and 4 of the 5s still locked.

Has anyone who recently paid $35+ successfully gotten their device unlock? If so, with which company? I've read a lot of people paying, getting refunded, so determining if unlocks are still actually possible. Thanks.

Why not just place the order and try it instead of waiting since the rule has been changing every few days.

If you are not in rush then you can wait until the price come down.
