In average done within 3 days ...

I think MacRumors needs to remove you because clearly you're providing bad information. There have been several users here who have reported that you have NOT unlocked within 3 days contrary to your commitment.

Ordering from you now - please have some good news for me =)

You're wasting your money. Nobody's gotten unlocked from this vendor within 3 days.

Isn't there a military exemption where they unlock in contract phones?

Yes and no. What they let you do is provide a copy of your deployment orders, that suspend your service while deployed. It also extends your contract by that amount of time (i.e. if you're deployed a year, it suspends your service for a year, and your contract starts where you left off when you get back). They will also unlock your phone as a part of this process if requested, but it'd be a lot of effort (and bad karma) to try and doctor up Military Orders for the sake of unlocking your phone, especially given it also initiates a suspension process for the duration of the deployment.

I'm on day 5 with chronicunlocks still nothing.

I just ordered 3GS Unlock with Chronicunlocks. Besides being more expensive than Flyunlock it seems more trustful considering Paypal payment.

As it is a 2009 3GS we can see how this IMEI unlock madness is going with out-of-contract devices.

Success with AT&T!

I've been following this thread for a couple of days and panicked about not being able to get my phone unlocked via AT&T because of what a lot of people experienced. I tried my luck anyways and submitted a request through the device unlock portal on Saturday around 12:13PM and to my surprise got an email notification today, around 7:30PM EST confirming that they were able to unlock the phone. The crazy thing about all this is that my phone was bought on eBay and was NEVER used on the line it was requested under. Before getting the email I called in about 9-10 times (between Saturday and today, LOL) only because I thought it wouldn't go through! Each rep gave me a different response every time I called so it was really frustrating to hear.

I think there's still hope for those of you who are still waiting for the notification email or thinking about requesting an unlock from AT&T; give it a shot!! As long as the account holder meets all the requirements, there's no reason why they shouldn't unlock your phone!

Do share your success stories with AT&T if/when you get through to them :)

I had an Iphone 5 unlocked through ATT customer Support a few days ago. I was calling to get information on my current ETFs because I was thinking of canceling my service. They decided to take a look at my account to see if there were cheaper alternatives. I then told them that while I was aware of ATT's unlock policy, could they make an exception since I will be traveling abroad. Got it unlocked, no further questions asked. I have two lines and both are under contract. Very easy process for me.

you got lucky. depends on the agent you are speaking to and what mood they are in.

Here is something strange I need help with. I got two iPhone 5s unlocked through AT&T. Neither were activated or on the account. Imei site shows unlocked. I finally opened last night and it won't work with other sims. Tried network reset and iTunes restore still nothing.

Anyone else experience this?

how can you check to see if your phone is unlocked?

Which IMEI site did you use? && what sim card are you using? Because that's usually the way to tell if the phone works on another carrier...

You can also try calling Apple and have them verify..

When I put my T-Mobile SIM card in before the phone was unlocked, both iTunes & the phone itself let me know that the sim that was inserted was unsupported. Once I was notified that the phone was unlocked, I was able to go through the activation process and the carrier name appeared within seconds of searching for a signal.

As far as Apple is concerned, you can either provide the serial number or the IMEI number when you call in and a representative would be able to tell you whether it's unlocked or not.

I'm on AT&T and I just tried the IMEI site off google search and it says locked.

I called AT&T and tried to convince them to unlock it cause I'm going for business but they wouldn't budge. Told me to contact their international plans dept and get an extra plan :(

Either way I don't plan to travel anytime soon so I don't expect to need my phone unlocked.

Whats the other big benefit of having an unlocked phone?

Ok just got off the phone with apple. All my phones that show unlocked on the imei websites and I got emails back from Att on are NOT showing unlocked in apples system.

What would be the reason for this? Should I call Att back?

Definitely...and find out what happened or if they ever processed the unlock for you.

Let me know how it goes...

numbers

what are the numbers to call to find out about unlocks with apple?
for example, I have a 4s from AT&T, I upgraded based on eligibility to a 5s now with AT&T,

AT&T doesn't seem ABLE to unlock my 4s, they've tried to put in the IMEI now four times, and now have "pushed it over to apple to unlock" but I don't know what that means and haven't received any communication about it.

AT&T seems to have washed their hands with it (I guess that's what you get after having service for THIRTY YEARS!!!!! (Ok, only 27)- CAN YOU HEAR ME AT&T!!!!!)

I digress.

where does one go, contact to find out about IF something is now finally unlocked?

I gave them the message three times, but no response.when I asked them for a Email address on the live chat, they just kick me out. now,I do not know what they are hiding and I do not trust them.

It's a weird time for unlocks that's for sure. The bottom line is a) if you are trying an unlock service, USE A CREDIT CARD, not debit nor bank account and b) If you must have an unlocked device, the only reliable way right now is to buy the t-mo unlocked from Apple.
