Yep, now that everything is up and running it works great, no different than on a 4S from what I've seen. Who needs a 4S anyway :)

Except that the "installing Spire" part may be tricky. Mine got stuck in "Setting up shared cache" after downloading and installing the Siri files. It never got past that part. Finally, I aborted the install, tried again with same result. I suspect some kind of interaction with another tweak (I have too many), so I have restored and rejailbroken the phone. Again it stops at this point.

Any clues?

there is nothing tricky about it, you just have to be patient, when it said "download and installing siri" all is doing is downloading an script to tell the phone where the Siri files are on Apple server, it need to download 20MB of data from Apple's server (that is what is doing when is read "Setting up shared cache"), you just need to wait it take some time. If you read the description, it is there.

Just go to Cydia, uninstalled Siri (If you still have since Cydia will see the script and think the package was installed). Reboot the phone > go back to Cydia > try to install Siri again and this time...WAIT ... it will complete eventually. (Mine took about 8min to complete on Wifi while i was watching some Hulu)

Yep. Patience is the key. 30 minutes on a fast internet connection :)

I guess some place between here and Apple's servers is less than fast....

Up and running on IMZDL Server StarGate.

:D

I was wondering if this happens to anyone else. I hold the home button down and the siri logo comes up but sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds until it beeps and I am able to speak to it. After the first time through though, once I am at the "siri screen", I can hit the siri logo and it beeps instantly. Just to be clear, the lag I am talking about has to do with the siri application launching, not with siri responding back to me. IMZDL's servers are very fast.

is iMZDL's servers working good now i know i seen some talk of them now working after a few days

YESSS!!! I am also experiencing this, not all the time though but it does happen and it's annoying. I think it has more to do with the spire port, hopefully there will be an update to it. Meanwhile, i redid my jailbreak with the newest redsnow and it seems to be working for now

What really surprises me is how well Siri still works when on EDGE. Almost as fast as when I'm on 3G.

Makes you wonder why Apple left out the 3G toggle from the 4S (which is coming back btw) in that case. I always thought it was to ensure Siri always worked fine.

Those numbers would not show overselling of keys or really anything that useful.

What is your "purpose" on this thread?

Did you pay for the service, and are having problems? (what probs are u having)?
Did you not pay for the service, and you're just being obnoxious?

I've been back on stock iOS 5.0.1 for over a week now. Can't be arsed with it (Spire/Siri) and the hassles anymore, lol.

It's really not that complicated, i would never go back to stock. In fact, ill stay on 5.0.1 jailbroken until the next iPhone comes out if that's what i have to do to keep siri.

If you look at the thread history you'll see a) I started it, and b) most of the people who use the proxy on here do so because I initially recommended it.

It's not about it being complicated, I know it isn't. It's about it being a pain in the arse!

I wanted to add that I also have had no problems with this service for the past week. I wil say I'm not as impressed with Siri as I had hoped, but that's another thread.

It definitely takes some getting used to, but i use it A LOT. Remember that siri is still in its beta stage. Personally i think it's pretty sleazy that apple released it prematurely for the sole purpose of making the 4S seem like a big upgrade when in reality it's just an iPhone 4 on steroids. Siri will become much more capable as time goes on, this is just the beginning.

This is 6 th day and I still haven't got it to work. I shot an email to imzdl and they asked for my assistant.plist file. I replied instantaneously and it's been a day and a half they haven't replied back. I have no clue what these guys are upto. If they claim to have ironed out all the issues, how could I still be facing the problems. ( I say this because I had siri working for 4 days non stop before they ran into issues and ever since it hasn't worked for me.)

Thanx for your suggestions. But the thing is I have already paid them 20 bucks and they just resolved my isse and Siri is back for me.

Also, I am not gonna spend more money on this unless m sure of the fact that this can work for longer periods without any issues..

Thanx and will follow you guys. If u guys can sustain it then u are definitely getting 5-6 of my friends
Orders. I have told them to wait an watch.
M following both imzdl and u guys. The ones with no issues for atleast a week will be the one I tell my friends To go to.. :)

Def go with transblitz. I have been up for 4 days now without a single issue. In fact, I just upgraded to get my wife Siri for her iphone. I got her up and running in 5 minutes. I don't do a lot of endorsing, but this is def one I am. I am one very happy customer and use Siri daily.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Mine has been working straight since day one, been 5 days now with out any issues from iMZDL. Thanks!

Thanx for that. Will definitely consider that.. :)

This is weird.. But while I was just using Siri through imzdl, Siri showed a different name than mine. It showed the name as "Ali" instead of my name "Dhrumil".
I tried again several times. But all the other tries Coundlt produce the problem.

I forgot to take a screenshot but m sure it was a wrong name.

The cocern is that is it possible that the data is routed to other device. Some sort of cross connection. Does this put our information at risk??

M not being paranoid or too much concerned about it. Just want to have others opinion..

Edit: happened again.. Took the screenshots..

No it's not possibly. It is a proxy, simple as that.

Well, in principle it could be possible, depending on how the proxy works.

A speaks to Siri, query sent to Apple server
B speaks to Siri, query sent to Apple server
reply comes from Apple server, but is it to A or B?

Unless the server does something to prevent this, I guess it could happen.

On the other hand, Siri probably gets your name locally after the reply comes back from Apple, which should prevent it.
