After reading through this thread, I think I am going to give it a try. I was skeptical at first but I see many positive comments about this proxy.
*crosses fingers*

Wow, I got the email almost instantly. Followed the instructions and BAM!, Siri on my iPhone 4. Huge thanks to the OP for this thread!

Ain't it wonderful? I truly thank the people who are so dedicated to making these things so user friendly for the rest of us. It takes some serious dedication. I actually just sent iMZDL an email to thank them.

How you guys liking the great service now?

The service has been amazing.

I have a question that has nothing to do with the servers though, has anyone here been experiencing a 5 second delay when they press the home button to invoke Siri? The microphone comes up but it take a while to make the beep sound. Doesn't happen all the time, but many times.

Yes it's quite normal.. Have been discussed in other forums too. I guess, it's because of lack of A5 processor. And also the code is not
Optimised to work on the iPhone 4.

It works perfectly! Thank you very very much!!

BUT what kind of information is send to the imZDLs proxy?
I mean I manage my bank account information with the iphone
My photos and videos
all my private Emails / business emails

any of those info send to them? Thank you in advance for the answer :)

The only data it should send is whatever is said to Siri (which wouldn't be passwords or anything). They said that their server is secured and that the data isn't actually visible so it's not as if someone is sitting and watching your Siri communications on a screen or anything :p

Just want to share my experience with the whole process here.

Downloaded Spire
Facebook etc. wouldn't load
Installed Corona.5.0.1
Facebook etc all worked perfect
hooked up iMZDL with a $20 spot
emailed instantly, setup instantly, works perfectly.

I paid $20, recently and I'm using the Freemont server in California on my iPhone 4. Everything is working great so far, with zero problems. Definitely worth the 20 bucks in my opinion heh.

Hi

Came across this thread after searching about how to get Siri on my iPhone 4.

Is everyone still getting good quick responses both from the company and using Siri.

I read that Siri is a little more awkward to use on the 4 because it lacks some form of background suppression that the 4s has ?

Also some say spire drains the battery faster ?

Looking forward to your advice.

It does drain it a tad faster.. But that's due to Siri being meant for the iPhone 4s and it's processor. Still it's not to bad in my opinion. But the servers are fine for me and very responsive considering.

Can anyone comment on the speed of this server? I'm caught between this one and another one.

The speeds good, and there are multiple servers. I'm pretty sure there's a New York server.

I'm not able to get this working. The instructions e-mail says: "You can download the certificates for the servers from siri.imzdl.com/install"

When I click on the link, I get the option to "Install the Certificate." When I activate that link on my iphone, I get the following error in a pop-up window: "Cannot Install Profile - Safari could not install a profile due to an unknown error."

I made sure Siri is set to "off" in Settings->General->Siri
I deleted "/Users/Library/Preferences/com.apple.assistant.plist" using iphone explorer
I tried rebooting.
I still get the same error.

Any suggestions?

Update: they ended up emailing the certificate to me. I was able to install it and Siri is working now.

Would you mind viewing this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edOLu21zrls and commenting on the speed of IMDZL's server compared to the speed of the one in the video? This would really make my decision easier. Thanks in advance!

Can someone clear this up for me.

If i purchase a siri proxy for $20, do i get access to all their servers ?

I read on here about people jumping from one server to another at imzdl.

To those that are doing just that, is it easy/how ?

The speeds are equally fast. Also, u have options of multiple servers. So u can choose the one that's closest to u.

Does location of server matters to get a better speed for Siri(Spire)?

Yes very easy, it takes hardly 1 minute to change the certificates. and yes you get access to all their servers.

Is that the certificate you mention about changing under the name on their server list ?
