iPod touch In Apple retail stores?

Cursed Apple stores are no where near me! :mad: I'll just have to wait and check BestBuy. Hopefully they aren't long in getting their shipments.
 
I tried at least 5 times to call my local store today and the phone just rang and rang. I guess Ill drive down there tomorrow and see if they have any.
 
I'm just trying to find the 32GB online, for the cheapest price (including shipping) without CA sales tax (out of state). Amazon seems like the best bet, but I'm wondering if there's another place like MacMall that has free accessories but no sales tax. Amazon also isn't in stock for "9-10 days".
 
New selling day, so thought I'd bump this up. Post if your store gets the new Touch in stock.
 
iPod Touch 32 GB (MB533LL/A) Apple Store Availability?

It never ceases to amaze me how these things work... to me when Steve Jobs said "Available for purchase today!" I figured I'd go into the Apple Store and they'd have a box of them yesterday... not the case.

I went to the Apple store and they said they didn't have them and didn't know anything about them (gasp!)... And in calling around, seems most the stores were the same way, none of them had any knowledge about these until Steve's chat.

Anyhow, I'm curious out there if anyone has had any luck getting one... I go on the website and it says "Shipping in 1-3 days"... I want one ASAP but don't really want to pay for their overnight shipping when they assign the "1-3 Days" window... that's shady, in today's modern inventory systems they should be able to guarantee same or next-day shipping based on in-stock status. I don't want to order it today and find out they're not in stock in their warehouse till Friday, have it ship Friday and not get it till Monday if I can walk into the store Friday and pick one up...

Any thoughts\experience on this one guys?
 
I was at the Apple Store Lincoln Road, Miami FL yesterday, watching Engadget's live coverage of the keynote. Afterwards the store workers told me that it usually takes them A WEEK until they get the new products. - Yet they told me to call the shop "usually after noon, we know if there's something new coming in".

So, in about an hour I will call the store and see if there's anything new they can tell me. I'll keep you updated. I'm in the US on vacation for only about one more week (so I don't suppose that ordering at the Apple online store really is an option, since I'm staying at a hotel and I'm not sure how the US online store handles a foreign credit card) and I think it would suck pretty hard if I wasn't able to get a new iPod touch.

Same here. I want to order one, but the 1-3 days shipping makes me think it will be better to just wait until stores get them. I get $25 off on Apple Store online with my company, but I'd rather get one this week to mess around with over the weekend.

I ordered mine yesterday and it is scheduled for delivery on friday morning.

So much for "overnight delivery" when the shipping lead-time is 2 days. That's one thing I'll give Apple crap about, their online ordering system seems to be lacking in comparrison to Amazon, Buy.com, etc...
 
So strange... San Francisco & Palo Alto (the two stores I'd think would be on top of the list for Apple) say they don't have them and that none of the stores in the company have them. BOO. Why do they release a product and say available today, but not have stock in their stores? I can understand situations where Best Buy and third party don't have them, but when they have their own stores they're like warehouses, "available" today should mean I can go get one. Ugh, Apple... least you could have done with this boring update is to have them in stock. When I called 800-Apple they told me they know nothing, can't tell me anything... but I do love how the rep compared the price drop to that of the frenzy of initial iPhone release... haha... oh my have they gone down hill at their call center, haha
 
Shipping

I ordered mine yesterday and it shipped the same day. According to FedEx, it'll be here Friday (barring getting hit by the hurricane.):eek:

So you ordered on a TUESDAY with overnight shipping and it'll be delivered FRIDAY? !?!?!?!?
 
It's available in Cincinnati ...

I just called back my local Apple store today (Cincinnati), and, after waiting literally for four freakin' minutes for someone to answer the phone (ring ... ring ... ring), they finally answered and said YES the new iPod touch is stocked and available.

So keep checking; it might show up faster than they first told you. (Yesterday, they told me that they didn't know when they'd be getting it.)
 
32gb iPod Touch

I bought a 2nd generation 32gb iPod Touch from the Cincinnati Apple Store today.

Funny thing is, people were still buying 1st generation iPod Touch's because the new ones were only in the back and not on display
 
Available in NC

I just picked up a 32G iPod Touch in the Southpoint Mall store in Durham, NC.

Store clerk said they came in the noon shipment.

I bought a 32gb iPod Touch from the Cincinnati Apple Store today.

Me and Wlow3 went to the same store!:eek:

Glendale: "After 12pm today we're expecting them."
 
Birmingham, AL store didn't have any of the new iPods this morning but said that thye haven't received their shipment yet. Told me to call back after 2pm or so.
