Christiana Mall (Wilmington, DE) has them in stock but will not have them out on display until Thursday. I don't know if I could have bought one, I plan on getting one at Best Buy when they get them to get my Premier Rewards Zone points.

Bay Area Stores

Burlingame - Not in Stock, check back later
Palo Alto - Not in Stock, check back later
Pleasanton/Stoneridge - Not in Stock, not expected until next week

Birmingham, AL- NO new iPods in their shipment today and not sure when they will get them.

I bought a 2nd generation 32gb iPod Touch from the Cincinnati Apple Store today.

Funny thing is, people were still buying 1st generation iPod Touch's because the new ones were only in the back and not on display

In the UK - same with the nano when i bought my touch, i felt like saying something because i know the new nanos were out back because i asked to have a go on one... sneaky!

I was in the Louisville Kentucky store today and they didn't have any of the new items yet. I asked when they expected them and they said any time. They were supposed to be delivered today but as of approx 1:30 they hadn't arrived yet. They hoped to have them out tonight or tomorrow.

Spoke with manager. All stores will get their shipments today.

I called Palo Alto and their rep still says "order online...we don't know when the shipment will be here." Just a lack of info from the top down?

The Louisville Kentucky Apple store was expecting them today but as of approx 1:30 PM when I was there they hadn't arrived. When I asked (about the Nano's) they were still hopeful but said I may want to wait until tomorrow to make sure.

They sure had a lot of employee's standing in there so it looks like they were sure staffed for a new product intro.

Eric

just order online!!!
That doesn't work with a new product that you need to see in person first before you decide if it is the right thing to buy. I want to see the new Nanos in person first. as for the Classic you have a point, since nothing really changed from the current model. The Nano and touch are both new designs, however, and I would never buy one before seeing it first.

screw ordering it online! it will take too long.

i was the first to get mine at my local apple store today in Simi Valley, CA. even before they had to process it in inventory. woot!

32 GB of pure iTouch 2nd Gen goodness.

Can you confirm which headphones it comes with? I'm assuming it's not the new $29 ones with control and mic, but still hoping...

I just picked up a 32G iPod Touch in the Southpoint Mall store in Durham, NC.

Store clerk said they came in the noon shipment.

DJ

I just bought a new 32gb touch from Southpoint too!

They said they got all of the new ipods in except the 16gb nano.

My University Apple/PC store insists they will have them Friday. They've seen the shipment tracking info, and are positive. Today they had every old iPod on sale! Go figure! ;)

Both the Dallas North Park and Plano Willow Bend stores have them in stock. I traded my old 40GB iPod classic (2003!) in for one of the new 8GB touches. I mostly wanted the apps, so I'm happy. Also, the volume button is indispensable. The built-in speaker is acceptable, I know what it's playing and I can hear it in my pocket. That's enough for me, though it does max out pretty quickly.
