They're available in Cincinnati, but ...
Like an earlier poster noted, they didn't have any of the new stuff out. As I walked in, I saw people looking over all the old nanos and old iPod touches, and I started to assume that the guy I had spoken with earlier over the phone gave me the wrong information. I went up to a clerk and did the whole "I called earlier today and you guys said ..." routine. He said, "Oh, yeah; we have them. They're in the back." As he's leading me back there, I'm looking at the old merchandise still marked at the more expensive prices and I'm thinking about how many poor, uninformed souls are going to pluck down money for the older version that -- at least with the iPod touch -- costs even more than the new one. I know I'd be royally ticked.
And although they had all three versions, initially some of the clerks thought that they only had the 8GB and the 16GB.
I guess maybe they didn't have enough that first day so maybe they're under orders to sell to only those who specifically ask for it.
The moral is, if you walk in there and you don't see it displayed then walk up to a clerk and specifically ask for it.
Incidentally, I got this (the 16GB one) as a gift for my parents, and after loading 517 songs, 1400 photos, 2 complete movies from their computer and an assortment of free apps from the iTunes store, the device still had 9-10 GB free. Unless you really need the space, you might be very content with the 16GB version.
