December 30th on all 15" configs... at least they showing up so they probably have some I can go look at.

Tried one in the store today. Did not make me regret my choice to buy the non-Touchbar 13". Was smaller than it looks in pictures. Didn't really like using it. Of course this was based on a few minutes in the store but it didn't make me want it.

Not even interested enough to check it out IRL. Sorry Apple, after decades of loyalty, you've lost me with this one.

I waited to judge the new MBP until I finally got to try it. Even after I did today, I would still like to spend more time with it before I decide to buy one.

I really feel like the MBP took a step down in premium feel. The keyboard resonates with the body, and gives this hollow feeling. The closest thing I can think of is the iMac keyboard, or the Surface Pro keyboard cover.

The touch bar was solid. Very responsive, although I wasn't able to find anything that was awesome. Maybe that's the point, it's just an extension of the keyboard. It's has a more matte finish, which makes total sense, but it looked odd so close to a glossy screen. Like it didn't fit. Maybe it was the bright lights in the Apple Store.

Again, first impressions after limited use. However, I was sold immediately after I saw the retina MBP for the first time. I'll definitely be sitting this one out, and waiting for the first update to see how they support it, in both terms of hardware updates and software with the touch bar.

You missed the best feature: Touch ID. It works really well, it eliminates all the times you have to enter a password daily (unlock screen, App Store, iTunes, installing software, saved passwords in Safari...)

Haha, well you got me there. But I was not about to record my fingerprint in a demo model! The new MBP definitely takes steps forward, I just was not left convinced it was a complete step forward. In some areas, I felt it took steps back.

If I had to buy a laptop in the next 6 months (and it's loooking like I will), it would definitely be a 2015 model.

You know what really annoys me.. I also went in store to look at them and all of the 15" display models have the Intel Iris Pro 580 chip along with the 450 Pro (checked in About this Mac)... Shows they could've actually included a decent integrated GPU but chose not to due to cost saving measures. Also shows that they want it to run smoother for the in-store display models with all of their demo software.

My Apple Watch already does that. Unlocks my MBP by the time I finish lifting the lid. My passwords are already saved in Safari across all of my devices so all I have to do it click the drop arrow at the right of the login box, select my user name and it autofills the rest. I don't see how using the Touch ID would make that any faster. ApplePay integration would interest me if not for the fact I can use my watch and my phone to process Apple Pay purchases through my laptop already. Basically, Apple released a feature that was already obsolete and unnecessary by the time they announced it. All in all, really weird decisions coming from Apple HQ lately.

Stores in N. VA have both the 13" and 15" with touchbar for purchase today, but they are the base models. Someone posted in the shipping thread that they found a 15" touchbar model with 1TB and 460, so some stores are getting BTO options.

I have a 13 3.3 i7 model that is ready now. Not sure I have the time to go get it sadly.

I'm returning mine tonight

I hope you meant to add an "/s" in there and have more important things to do than make unboxing videos in your spare time.

The touchID is probably the number one feature I am looking forward to. Starting Dec 1st the government can legally install virus/spyware on all computers without specific warrants. Having at least something like a password treasure trove protected from the viruses and spyware will be extremely valuable.

For what I do, I can probably wait another 6 years.
Sadly most of the Pros complaining in these threads can probably wait that long. I waited 8 years and am really looking forward to updating finally.

An obsolete feature and weird decision by Apple including laptop Touch-ID?

You're assuming that everyone who will own and use a 2016 MBP owns an Apple Watch that's setup for Mac unlocking, and on their wrist at the time they want to use their MBP.

Just because that set of conditions is apparently always met in your situation does not mean that is the case with everyone else.

I don't know what kind of street drug you guys are smoking, but my loaded 15" is wicked fast. It's also stunning.

I think this is the best example yet of how well the hardware integrates with the OS. It's just ridiculous. Not one hang-up. Even running many VST's and plugins for audio. I finished a nice, 4K training video on it last night as well.

I'm sorry, but it's already exceeding my expectations. Maybe an attitude cleanse? Also, I can't fathom that this many people are actual proffesional that actually need this kit. Sounds like a bunch of $30k/year "millionaires," to me. Some people buy enormous trucks... Clearly a lot of people buy computers that are overkill. Compensation, guys?

I think many just can't get over its price! I also think this could be a good breaking point to keep people where their needs actually are. If you can't justify $3500 for peace of mind in an ecosystem you must have, there are plenty of Asus ROG's out there for your $2000 to keep your spec and worthless (yet future proof) 32GB of RAM.

I'll tell you first hand... You get what you pay for!
