I have a question about this if anyone knows. I tried to contact Apple CS but the high volume can't get through.
When I pick up the Verizon iPhone will they activate it? Because I really don't want them too since I used a friends account to buy it and wanted to put my ATT sim in instead.

I don't expect to get any more emails from Apple until the morning of the 3rd.

never thought about that. We have here also many sub carriers and if you buy a phone directly from the producer, you can out any sim in you want, no strings attached.
I'm from the Netherlands, but just like in Germany we get a GSM model. My 7 plus is an A1874 model, which would be the same as the T-mobile and AT&T model.

I did an in store pickup in an Apple Store. 11/3 10AM Pickup time. Apple Upgrade Plan...got all confirmation emails. Ordered at 3:04 AM Eastern. No charge for the tax on my card. Got confirmation of the Citizens One loan by email...even the new loan number.
I really think that in-Store initially had a better chance of 11/3. Instead of pulling from the big worldwide pile of iPhones...in-store orders only pulled from that store’s pile of iphones. Glad to live next to a few Apple Stores!

Thought paid in full before walk in store ? Not a hold. Just pick up and leave ?
You may have to pay in full before Pickup, but the initial charge which happened almost immediately after completing the order is just a hold. That will fall off and probably get charged for real on Thursday at some point.
