How did you get the top cover off. I can't for the life of me get it off, and I've posted a thread in the help section.

Someone replied to your other tread and used the same method I did.... A cloth covered butter knife and careful prying.

(Note for anyone that may try to blame the scratches on me: The resulting scratches were NOT from the butter knife and are nowhere near where the knife was)

Someone had wanted a pic of the red one.....

Not the best pic and this is the only view I took, but gives you an idea. I thought it looked really nice.

I may try to dremel down the clips on the top so it more or less just sets on there and I don't have to work to get it off..... I really just want it to protect against whatever scratches it may get just from being out.... I put it in a sleeve and then in a backpack whenever it leaves the house, so it would be held on snugly by the sleeve so I doubt it would come off while being transported.....

Has anyone thought about dremeling the back to flaps that prevent the screen from going past 90.... ?

uh would this hardshell case protect the macbook pro from being dropped lets say... waist level?

It would definitely cushion the blow just a bit, but I don't think it's designed for being dropped from any level. I'm pretty sure it was just designed to protect it from rough surfaces and the everyday elements. :)

If you're looking for something really rugged to toss around your MBP, this is not it. The case itself is made of a hard rubbery plastic. Sorry, the texture itself is hard to explain.

I'm going to let my clear-bra (3M protection film) guy who did my Porsche to install protection film on my MBP when it comes out. I don't like putting my electronics into cases or shells...I think its natural form is the nicest.

just got mine. Loving it. I ordered one online but I realized the apple store near my place has them in stock..so i went out and bought one. waiting for the online store to be back in business from the holiday weekend to cancel that order.

Its great. I love how it feels. One tiny thing though: whats with the line next to the sensor in the front?

is it normal for the side to look loose like that? (sorry its kind of dark)

It's hard to tell what you're asking for/pointing out, but this is the side of my MBP - hope this helps (click picture for larger version)!

Sorry.. I'm talking about the gap between the case and my mbp toward the right corner there.. It looks really snugly with yours..

How does the hardshell affect the temps?

Not sure if this has been covered, but could someone please tell me if the hardshell has any negative impact on the MBP temps? It looks to be vented enough at the bottom, but I would just like to know if anyone has any first had experience in terms of how the temps are. My MBP is normally at 43-46 degrees during my normal use, higher when using PS and Lightroom. Any help on this is greatly appreciated

The title of this thread prolly needs to be adjusted so unibody MBP users know it's not for them.

I think the case is great, but seriously, why did it take so many years for it to arrive lol.

No, check that the back is put on back. That piece of plastic that is the same length is the vent is supposed to go in there, however if you install it; there a variety of ways that get the vent and the rubber not to align, which is what this looks like.
