thanks for catching that!

It definitely could be an issue of putting it on - I also notice that when I push the monitor back further than, say, 10 degrees past 90, the bottom of the top-case (near the vent ports) is rubbing against the bottom InCase. it leaves a small mark each time, but it rubs right off.

umm yeah... i just received mine (red). all i can think of is tilting the whole thing by propping up the front feet? not ideal, but it leaves a cooling space underneath... ummm...

You have the red one? Could you please post pics of it on your MacBook? We haven't seen any pics of that one yet (except for what they put on the incase site).

@buyusfear - Where did you get the black Marware wrist guard for your MBP? I've been looking for it, but can only find it in grey.

Hi,

I really like how the hardshell looks!

How does it fit with 1st gen. mbp's? I saw one post here that says there may be an issue with the security slot, but I never use that.

Does everything else fit (ports and all) perfectly?

Thanks!

It's just the way it looks in pictures. Mine is grey. I don't think they make them black for the MBP>?

Ahh. Okay, thanks! The people at the Apple store thought I was a little crazy when I insisted there was a darker one. A black one would be great to go along with the Black Incase Hardshell though.

Great pictures by the way. They look like catalog shots. I'm running with the matching Black MacBook Pro Incase and Silicone Blackberry Curve case as well.

EDIT: I just realized the picture of the matching MBP & Blackberry case was actually Nesper's. I went through the entire thread quickly so mixed that one in with your batch.

No Worries!
And thanks for the kind words, nothing like a fast lens to give you sweet depth of field, or that "catalog look"

Just got my FROST hardshell case for my 15 MBP. I was tired of always having to "baby" the MBP when handling it so this case allows me to breathe a little easier!

Installation was a "snap"... the bottom went on with no problems. The tabs on the bottom piece all "eat" onto the MBP. I do however have a small problem with the top piece... the tabs on the left don't go over the "grey plastic bezel".

Anyone else have this problem? (Yes, the top piece is on correctly)

I'm thinking about exchanging it.

Hi,

Got my black hardshell, and I do like the feel and look of it over my speck clear case. But...

The issue of the casing not allowing the screen to be open past a 90 degree angle is a bit too much for me. Unfortunately, back to the store it goes.

Hopefully, incase will figure this out and revise their case. I'll be on line for that one in a heartbeat.

Then again, when that happens, new mbp's will be out!

So...... I may have gone a bit over-board with the black iNcase hardshells...

What can I say? It's a great looking product..... :)

it's an awesome looking case but I don't think I could deal with the not being able to open the screen past 90 degrees thing

I don't know where this rumor started, but they open up fine. Especially the MacBook. Well past 90 degrees.

My MBP with the black Incase doesn't tilt back as far as yours does. Mine tilts back just a little more than 90, but not much.

It's not a major issue, but I'll admit it gets annoying sometimes - especially when I'm on my laptop while slouching on the couch or in bed.

I agree with 514Mac. It wasn't 90 degrees, it just wasn't much more.

Did you have to use any force to get it open to than angle? Can you take some pics to see if the edges left some marks in the back where they meet?

I have exactly the same problem. In particular, the bottom left tab of the lid. The rest fits fine. I was going to return it, but I had similar problems with the Speck bases. I think my Macbook Pro is a millimetre out of true in places with regard to standard measurements, so I am going to live with mine.

I'll take pics later, but no, there are no rub marks. And, i didn't use any extra force. There is a "stop" point, at around 90, but if you keep opening it, it will go. again, it's not like i'm torking on it. And both MBP's open the same amount.

As for them fitting on. They are really tight, so make sure the top lid is on correctly, with the incase logo on the lowr right corner of the apple symbol. Then just squeeze and they'll click.

So I noticed that there was some cat hair beneath my case (that stuff gets everywhere). Being how I am, I wanted to get it out.... In the near hour long process it took me to get the top cover off, I inadvertently scratched my MBP. This thing is not going back on now.... It sure did look nice though.

Here's a picture of the contact point. You can see a "scuff" but that does rub away or disappear after you rub it. Perhaps it is slowly wearing down and allowing for a greater viewing angle. either way it doesn't bother me in the least.

After see this thread, i went to the local Apple and purchased one. They ony had frost and black. I purchased the black.

I have clear Speck case. Never really liked it. The Incase to superior by a long shot.

To my surprise, there was a long line of people waiting for the iPhone 3g.

I don't know what the problem is with people not being able to go past 90 degrees. Mine goes back further than i need it.

I got the frost Incase today after I picked up my MBP from repair. I'm going to put it on after my HD install :)

How did you get the top cover off. I can't for the life of me get it off, and I've posted a thread in the help section.
