Several reasons:

all headphones fit with my geometric whereas most fit with the incipio (not shure scl4's that I use on flights and such).

The raised back is really comfortable when holding the phone, even if it is annoying trying to operate the phone while it's laying on the table.

It's slightly thinner. And the bottom is more protected.

But the see through design of the incipio is pretty awesome.

Guys, PLEASE GO BUY THIS CASE!!!

I'm a huge Otterbox fan and have the Defender & Commuter for my iphone 4. Just picked up this case about an hour ago and it's honestly the best case IMO. I had really high hopes for the new commuter but it just didn't cut it. I guess because of the newly designed iphone, the commuter has a lot of fitment issues (and yes, it was installed correctly). The back plastic just doesn't seem to fit perfectly and a slight pull on the top will separate it off the silicone.

Enough about the Commuter. The button press on this NGP Matte honestly feels like no case at all. I'm super impressed by the simplicity of this case and best of all... IT FITS THIS SEIDIO INNOCASE HOLSTER LIKE IT WAS DESIGNED FOR IT!!!

I purchased this holster to test out with the commuter and it was a no go. Slapped the NGP on and it fits this holster like a glove with ZERO movement left, right, up, or down. There is even a little "tooth" on the top clip that slides down in the home button groove of the case for a more secure fit. Plan to post pics later and start a dedicated thread for the setup.

What makes you like it more than the Incipio?

-HM

I also had the Geometric and did not like it compare to the Incipio. As a matter of fact, I tried 3 different Geometrics and could not get one to work properly with the buttons as compared to the Incipio. Also, the feel in hand is not nearly as good as the matte finish of the Incipio. Other things I did not like is it is a fingerprint magnet on the shiny parts of the case. I had flash issues with the Geometric. The Geometric has a much more pronounced seam. Those are the main reasons I returned mine. I also tried the Pixelskin HD at a Microcenter store. I never purchased it because it was the same as the Geometric. It was the older version that everyone is saying is better than the new version Apple is shipping. All in all, the Incipio is a better case and is $10 less.

Just as an update, this case is still really good and I recommend it, but I've gone back the geometric.

I think geometric is the end all for me.

how is the grip of the geometric compared to the NGP? Also, do you know how they handle screen protectors?

This is what I was saying about the back in one of my earlier posts (maybe in this thread or the PixelSkin thread). The shape of the back doesn't look like it'd be comfortable at first, but after using it, you realize it fits in the hand very, very well. It just feels good in the hand, which is surprising considering how irregular the back is.

anyone know where to pick one up in the Seattle area? There are no close walmarts to Seattle without at least a hefty drive.

Seems like Walmart is the only place so far. The one in Lynnwood tends to have it in stock, it's right off the I-5 exit 183 (for 164th St SW). About 20 minutes from Seattle when there's no traffic.

thanks bud! I am in the U. District, so that isn't too far. I will go check it out there.

does anyone know if the geometric or the incipio tend to bubble screen protectors? I have an iFrogz luxe right now that bubbles the heck out of my bestskin, so I'm looking to switch just for this purpose... then thinking of getting an oleophobic.

thanks OP

thanks OP, after seeing your post and pictures, i went ahead and got the Incipio NGP Matte Smoke from walmart. This sure beats the Belken Grip Vue I bought and returned when I first purchased the iPhone 4. This TPU case feels so good with the matte, semi-transparent finish. Lets you see the Apple logo and "iPhone" text. the buttons (sleep/wake and volume) are so easy to click compared to the Grip Vue.
I have front and back screen protectors and this case does not cause any bubbles at all! This case is almost like the Incase Snap smoke that I got from Apple, except this is TPU. Definitely a keeper! I'm gonna rotate among this, Incase snap, and Incipio Feather!

You added the metal buttons from an apple bumper to your pixelskin HD? Details please!

Here's some photos:

I cut the buttons out with an xacto knife. The top button came out flawless and looks like it belongs there. When I finished the top, I said to myself "This came out perfect, I should stop here before I screw it up". Well, I did the sides and they did not come out anything like how I wanted them to. They look okay, but I use the bumper most of the time just because I don't like the way the side buttons look. I could do it again properly, but I wouldn't spend the money on two more cases if there's a risk of it not coming out perfect.

That being said, the photos make the side buttons look worse than they really do.

Just picked this one up... no flash issues for me, but i plan on returning it. Its nice, but it feels a lot thicker then my pixelskin hd. Also, aybe mine is just a little defective but I can squeeze the sides and get a little play. Cool color and it looks good, but back to my pixelskin.

Black Verision

If you don't want the see through... AT&T store has the black version... but it's $24.99. I think it's great, but I've gone back to my bumper for now.

It didn't bubble a PS film

I have a PhantomSkinz on mine, and the Incipio case caused slight bubbling at the very edge of the last two corners inserted into the case. With a little elbow grease, was able to reduce but not eliminate it.

I do like the case, thinking about getting a Seidio holster to go with it (as described above). It does have a little rough flashing but it doesn't bother me that much. Pretty happy with it.

That looks pretty good! I'm tempted to try it

I have a SGP carbon skin on the back and a PS screen protector. Will the case still fit?

Anyone try the screen protector? Any comments on that?

I have a screen protector from my case-mate barely there. Works okay but definitely shows streaking and rainbow colors when viewed at an angle with the iphone screen off. Slightly annoying.

I picked up the case to give it a try, but returned it because I wasn't a big fan of it. I don't think it provides the kind of protection I want. I have an iFrogz Luxe, and while it adds some bulk I don't worry much that if I drop it the front or bak will crack. I fear that if the phone falls flat face first or flat back first on to concrete, the Incipio NGP won't do much help.

On top of that, I wasn't much a fan of the look. Maybe I'm just not in to silicon-looking cases, even if it is still TPU.

It did bubble my BSE trying to put it on during the last part of putting the case in. But I pushed the skim back down and pulled the corners further up and it seemed like it would no longer cause it to bubble once on properly since the lip comes down far enough.

How rigid is the raised lip?

I've dropped my phone at least a dozen times now and my screen has been saved thanks to the lip on my current case. (Speck Candyshell)

Do you think the lip is good enough to withstand 4ft drops on the face of the phone? I can't do screen protectors so a lip is to me is important.

Cheers.

Well I guess I'm off to Walmart in a few hours to buy this case, does it come in clear?

Was holding out for my PixelSpin HD but since theyre now garbage tossers(btw I will never buy anything from speck now, since they f ed everyone over who ordered it from apple case program)

Thanks for the review, pics and info! :)
