I'm glad that the iPhone 6 availabilities are still good. I don't know if that is because Apple planned and manufactured more of the iPhone 6 models or if the Plus is really that much more popular. I can honestly say that I don't see THAT many 5"+ phones in day to day use. A lot of 4.5" to 5.1"

Maybe I won't have to wait 7 weeks to be my 4.7" :D

I'm a little surprised. If I was ordering one I'd want to hold each one in my hand first before deciding.

The demand makes sense. I miss the glass back of yesteryear, but the front of the phone is absolutely gorgeous.

The 6 Plus isn't really a "phablet" in comparison to the phones that coined the name. Since the iPhone 6 is so thin, the general consensus seems (among those who have held it) to be that Apple designed it in such a way that it doesn't feel very big.

I'll certainly visit the Apple store next week so I can feel it for myself. Then, I'll have to convince myself that my 5S is still good enough.

But how significant is the increase? The record has been broken many times before:

...and the numbers are somehow irrelevant this time around!

Many people (myself included) were ordering both models in order (pun intended) to figure out which one to keep.

You can definitely divide whatever number they're gonna come up with by 2

But the 5s doesn't have NFC for apple pay.

That's silly, why would you assume that every single person out there is buying two models? Most people haven't even said anything of the sort.

Considering people are not made of money, and particularly in this economy, I highly doubt "many" people are doing that. I think you're a rare breed who can afford even one unlocked iPhone.

I'm really surprised how much pent up demand there was for the Plus model. I thought most people would find it too cumbersome to use on a daily basis.

I think there are a lot of people, particularly iPhone users, who don't realize how big a 5.5" phone is. Android users have generally held large phones at one point when purchasing a new one, and many use a 5" phone.

I suspect there will be a lot of shocked iPhone 6 Plus owners.

Apple seems to always create demand for a phone simply by fanning rumors about a model being in short supply. Some people were probably unsure on which version to get but when they heard the Plus had limited availability they decided they had to have the more expensive model. Kind of like with the gold phone last year.

Also, by leaving the base model at 16GB but bumping the middle tier model to 64GB, Apple likely enticed a lot of people to shell out an extra $100. They are kind of sneaky that way. As a shareholder, though, I like it.

I would rather see numbers and a comparison to pre-order sales of previous iPhone modes. In general, the latest iPhone seems to outsell the last.

Pre order from Att

I preordered from Att promptly at 12:03. This is my first time ordering through Att (I usually camp out) Does anyone know based on the past if they deliver on launch day?

Hopefully good for my Apple stock. I got my 128 GB iPhone 6 pre-ordered from AT&T (premier customer, renewed a 2 year contract) at around 8am ET with no hassle. I hear some other people had problems. ;) :D

I'm hoping this as well! (Regarding stock). Currently have 100 shares at right around $98 per. Man would I love to see that double in under a year. :D

for me it was the better battery life and the better camera - otherwise I would have gone with the 4.7. The screen is a bit big for my taste, but I can life with that (still would have preferred a 4.7 with better battery and camera)

There is no possible way that 50% of the iPhone buyers bought both models just to see which they like better. Not even 5%... or hell... not even 0.5% would do that.

There have been rumors for weeks about production delays for the 5.5, so not really a surprise they're scarce. No doubt the factories are cranking them out as fast as they can. Some people are upset they have to wait, but I'd bet they get over it pretty quickly once they finally get their hands on one.

Originally purchased the Plus. Went to bed, woke up with the same things on my mind, purchased the 4.7. I'm gonna try both....let's see

Bah, you can have a pretty certain idea of what you want by holding similarly sized Android phones or printing out the cutouts with the right dimensions. I'm going with the +.

Demand is unbelievable...or is it the lack of supply?

Ordered the 6+ from AT&T 3 minutes after it opened up for sale and estimated delivery is 10/13-10/22 right now.

Whoever is responsible for Apple's websites needs to be fired.

The streaming of the keynote was a joke, and the Apple Store pre-order process was probably the worst it's ever been since the iPhone 4.

Go check the forum...definitely not 5%...at least not in the US where people can return it within a 14-day window.
