The crowded city Kolkata in West Bengal. This would be the longest I've ever had to wait for something. :|
It's good, waiting encourages patience and builds character :)
Kolkata should be next day, IMO. So look out for something on the 23rd and delivery on the 24th.

You're quite lucky you can use the DHL page for tracking. At least you won't be completely in the dark. I tried but couldn't. You should get it by the 23rd.
Bluedart is still not showing anything. So I’m guessing 23rd is out of question. I reached out to Apple support and they said it’ll come in the mentioned window of 22-30 Dec.

It could start showing in the evening today and if you are in tier 1 city you may have it by tomorrow...same happened with me actually

Did they not give you an updated exact date of delivery? Expect it to be delivered on that day only. Or maybe one day earlier.
After I ordered it showed me 23rd to 31st as estimate. Then on 16th it changed to "delivery on 26th". Today is 22nd, so I guess in the next 2 days the Bluedart link will get activated for me.

Never expected Chrome could be so fast lol...no lags at all...it's so addicting :D
I bet it still swallows memory like a hungry obese American who's been starving for 10 days in front of McDonalds.

I like everything about Safari except for the pathetic address bar suggestions. Dear God. I open the website Macrumors twice a day for 93 days.. when I type mac on address bar it shows macrumors then one day.. I accidentally open a spam popup website called macupdate, from then on macupdate is the first suggestion result in Safari when I type "mac" in address bar even though I have Macrumors added in my favourites list. I don't know if there is some settings that I should change but it really really sucks the joy out of using this.

They did. It says 24th, but two days left and still no updates so I am not very hopeful.

I spoke with an agent from Aptronix yesterday. He told me it would take at least 40 more days for the mac mini to be available in stores. And then again, it would only have stock configurations.
At this point I'm grateful cause they opened the online store in India.

Gave up on Chrome a long time ago. My go to now is Firefox and it flies on M1. Also, if you really need a Chromium browser, use MS Edge - it's quite decent and nowhere as privacy invasive as Chrome.

As for the delivery dates, I think the dates are getting more and more delayed. Because going by own experience and this thread, we all have got our machines a little before the updated delivery date as well.

It was shipped on 16th Dec. But that's all there is, no more updates afterwards.
They shipped mine on 16th as well. And no "record" on Bluedart website since then. I am not terribly impatient though since I've been using a 2018 MBP 15" for the time being. 26th is my updated delivery date. Let's see.

My Bluedart link just got activated.

Weird stroke of luck!
I was not fully sure of replacing my 2019 MBP with the M1 MBA but put it up for sale nonethelessa month ago or so in case I get good value for it..

hadn’t give this much thought till I got a chance to look at the reviews / user feedback yesterday morning !
The ridiculously positive feedback (and also the HDFC card discount offer) made me want one badly till I realized it isn‘t available in stock anywhere..
Also, the HDFC offer is supposed to end this month so was rather disappointed

Then on a whim, I decided to call the physical stores in Pune - and turns out that a nearby store had one last unit remaining with them.
Rushed there and picked up and super glad I did!
This thing runs circles around the Intel MBPs and how...

Oh, and icing on the cake - No sooner had I got home that I got a call from a prospective buyer who promptly turned up in the evening to pick the MBP 😆

I had the keyboard fixed and battery replaced in my 2017 MacBook pro 13” for free with the butterfly keyboard service program. Then sold it at 70K last month. As far as the buyer is concerned, he received a brand new laptop without warranty. And 3 days later I ordered the mini.

That's a really good price esp for the '17 model - what config was it?
I should have also sold mine before the M1 came out - but still, better to cut losses and move on

It was the 4TB3 Touch Baer Model - Base Configuration.

Also I did NOT sell before the M1 came along. I sold it on 26th Nov, about 2 weeks after M1 Macs were out. But since I had a battery cycle of 3 and a fresh new keyboard, and a screen protector that's been there since purchase and a new keyboard cover, I got a somewhat decent resale value. I could have pushed even further and sell it for 80K but that guy wanted to do all cash and he kinda seemed sketchy, so I didn't go for it.

It's not a somewhat good resale value then .. it's excellent actually
The way to look at it is any prospective buyer would also have had the choice to spend the delta between your ask price and 86K INR for a far more capable machine - and new.

Currently It may be down to information asymmetry - I was able to get 65K for a 1 year old machine with 100 battery cycles - but with extended warranty
I still think its a very good price I got (although not as good as yours) considering only 20K more got me a machine that's twice as fast (easily), double the battery life and very likely will have better longevity too (the Intel Pro used to generate a lot of heat)

With each passing day the intel macs are losing significant resale value. I have to say I sold it at the right time. A month ago, this time, the internet wasn’t as filled with positive reviews of M1 as it is now. Hell.. even I didn’t know I was selling it for buying a new M1 one.

To give a bit more context, I purchased the laptop in 2018 and it collected dust for about 1.5 years, quite literally. No one even opened the lid for about 2 years. These are needless information to a third party but I had to pay 148K initially when I purchased it. Then after covid, around June IIRC I started using this laptop again with Big Sur beta since my 15” 2018 MacBook pro office laptop got new policy update and it was no longer streaming movies properly. Played a few games. Somehow a few keys broke. Went to centre and they changed the entire bottom case as far as I was told cause the battery cycle reduced from 28 to 1. Again, a buyer might not care about any of these. And at the time I would have been fine not selling it at 70K but now that I know what the new machines are capable of, I certainly would have sold it at 50K.
