Travelled 400km today to pickup a MacBook Air. hope it's worth it. So far loving it :)
I can totally imagine myself doing this. When I bought my first smartphone after 12th, the original iPhone 2G (had a feature phone before that) I could not sleep the preceding night. 😄😄

I think you should wait till Wednesday, I was supposed to get my shipment on 4th December and I got mine on 2nd December itself. There is a huge chance that Apple ships the computer by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow (Tuesday).
Really hope they ship it on Monday! What really bothers me is there is no way to track anything....that's not a good thing from customer's perspective!

Yeah it's slightly different in India, as Bluedart is the local partner for DHL. So there is no direct tracking from China on one platform. I agree that it is very strange to have it say shipped and then there's no sign of it for days.

Mine shows 17th Dec

So having gone through other people's estimated dates and delivery dates on this thread, I feel that you will receive it by the 15th. I am expecting mine on the 17th, but hoping it arrives on the 16th. In any case, we shall have our Macs by the end of this week! :)

It seems that there is a worldwide shortage and delay in these M1 Macs, specially the Airs.
However, it’s quite strange that there is a delay in already shipped Macs.

The only thing I can think of is there is a customs delay.

True..but Apple should atleast notify that it is stuck in customs or whatever....otherwise it becomes like an unlimited wait with no information at all...and I must say their chat support is as useless as it can get!

Agree about the chat support! These guys are not based in India, most probably somewhere in Eastern Europe or Ireland. And they're basically reading off a script and trying to sound enthusiastic and helpful, but basically are idiots.

I guess the last thing you can try is to wait till the 17th and see if it shows up, you'll know if it is going to by the 16th latest I guess.
If I don't see any movement till the 17th, I am planning to give Apple a call and hopefully find an Indian rep on the phone.

Well they are average and more or less the same as far as chat support goes, as per my experience.

2 years ago I was talking to an agent on phone from main apple support and the guy repeatedly kept telling me I could upgrade my RAM on my 2017 macbook pro touchbar model if I wanted to. At first I thought he probably confused the year, then even after 5 minutes of me being on hold and he checking the exact laptop from my product list, he kept telling the same thing. I hung up. He was nice and polite but didn't know anything what he was talking about.

But the other day I talked to a guy from chat support who seemed very knowledgeable. I asked him couple of questions like, from what time exactly the warranty of a product starts (since people r waiting 2 months even after placing order online), why don't they show detailed tracking info in some countries, the additional services like free Apple TV+ or one-on-one chat session with an apple Genius - from when they start etc. I was surprised at the responses. It seemed quite technical and really informative, to the point.

Like, did you know that Apple warranty officially "starts" even before the product reaches you? It's when the vendors or third party sellers get the items from Apple to ship them to YOU. For example, for Apple online store orders, they generate an Invoice right when the item leaves their warehouse or their shipping partner's warehouse - so even if there is some damage in transportation it's covered by the same warranty. Apple tracks the shipping time and then plus-minuses some average of 2-4 weeks to the date you get delivery. And that's when warranty is counted from. I can not verify any of these myself; it's just what the support agent told me. Nifty stuff.

Not in my experience. All my Apple products have warranty starting from the day I activated them with my iCloud account.
I fully expect my new MBA coming to start from whichever date it arrives. It's been the case for everything till now. Also, Apple usually sends out invoices 1-2 days after the product delivers, if you buy online from the store. Or they send them out immediately if you buy from a physical Apple store.

It could be that what you are saying is right, about Apple "plus-minuses" on the actual delivery and warranty date, but I have never felt shortchanged on any of my warranties :)

That's exactly what I thought. In the past I've always noticed that the warranty period is elongated by just a bit as if it's about 13 months of warranty from the date of purchase. I could be wrong but I've always felt like warranty gets activated when I logged into with my iCloud ID in the device; that's what it always seemed like.

Then the other day the apple rep. told me about invoices getting generated right when products leave warehouse so they are covered under the warranty claim - Apple TV+ subscription getting started shortly after I log into the new machine etc. - these are new to me as well.

Half an hour ago I got this text from bluedart. I've been expecting some stuff from Amazon & Myntra but not sure they use Bluedart like this. Also tracking info shows the route the item has been travelling along, in case anyone wants to know.

EDIT: It's something else from Amazon.

One's who are yet to receive their shipment are kind of lucky as you would be able to update to 11.1 and most of the issues related to wifi, bluetooth and external display would virtually be resolved on the first day itself i.e. after installing the Big Sur 11.1 update.

I read some people are not able to get 11.1. It's showing 11.01 in their system preference. But how is it related to people getting their computers in the coming 2 weeks vs people who got their computer in the past 2 weeks?

I’d rather be unlucky and get my computer sooner :p

Guys, just so you know, I’m checking this thread as well as tracking info multiple times a day for any information. If anything changes at your end, please do update here immediately and I’ll do the same.

I am speaking from experience, I got my Mac mini on 2nd December 2020, I was having issues connecting the logic keyboard and mouse. Thank God, I had USB dongle that worked fine.

Most of the issues are fixed with this update for you?

Yes brother almost all issues are sorted out, the keyboard and mouse are working via Bluetooth (without the USB dongle), I saved one USB port. Monitor also has not given any issue since the update. It's only been a few hours of usage, but I think 11.1 update has been quite positive. Safari feels a lot snappier now.

Like I said before, I think you would get your package by tomorrow mostly; latest by this Thursday.

I am so glad! :)

It means there’s good news in store for me too. Did you get an sms or just kept checking the link?
The Bluedart link should state when your expected delivery date is - what does it say?
