I was wondering, you know how in Leopard you have to enable a preference file for inertial scrolling for the Magic Mouse?

What if it's the same way with now, with these new trackpad kexts?

bump…
Also, it might be possible for the trackpad to support inertial scrolling if the version number was spoofed? (Slight off topic: I wonder if I can spoof my Model Identifier?)

Hi,

I wrote an app that simulates this, pretty well I might add. I have an older Unibody Macbook Pro which this works on - I haven't tried it on older MacBooks but should work on any multi-touch capable pad. Check it out:

Thanks a lot! really great thing, i just suggest you to move it to the Preferences window than the menu bar

Wow, Apple really couldn't have put that in a software update?
I just got my Macbook Pro and I love intertial scrolling. I just turned it off to see what it was like, and wow, I like it much more with momentum.

It is very complicated to do, but not impossible. With enough tinkering with the plists, you will either: a. get inertial scrolling working, or b. screw up os x enough, that it will not even boot.

Hooray!
Thanks for the news.
Too bad I'm on GPRS now and it would take like forever to download.

Thank you apple! and thank you guys that pointed some apps to survive in the meantime!

i have installed the new updates :) the scrolling is super, but at the three finger option, you have to select between forward/backward swipe or dragging :( i would love to have both enabled

I can confirm the 3 finger works great for dragging windows if you click on the top of the window bar, however, if you 3 finger click on text it highlights it ready for copy and past.

Now thats a lovely detail. Apple always surprise....
