I'm almost tempted to get this game just to see and show off the graphics, but I'm so much [probably in the minority] not into playing video games. I might still get this if the reviews are especially gushing.

(still haven't played the original Infinity Blade)

I'm almost tempted to buy the game, but I feel almost certain that the price will drop within a year.

How much is Infinity Blade I on sale for now that Infinity Blade II is out? Free?

Hmmm... $5.99. I commend them for keeping the price pretty high, but what's the point of selling it concurrently when Infinity Blade II is out for only $1 more? It seems like Infinity Blade I being free could allow it to act as a demo for Infinity Blade II... doesn't matter, I'll buy neither.

who the hell has to put the metal helmet on the big beast thing in the first frame of the video?

Now there is a switch. Having exclusivity with this game and more games when the next version of iOS with PowerVR 6 /A6 based SoC stretching the OpenGL version to 3.x [3.2 in PowerVR 6] and the OpenGL Shading Language 1.5 to the A6 will really push the boundaries for gaming on portable systems.

PS3, XBox360 and Wii are all going to lose ground even more rapidly when the iPad 3 with the Retina Display arrives.

I hate to burst your bubble but the iOS-devices are not and never will be gaming consoles. Get over it. Yes, this game looks pretty, but I think everybody will realize, how repetitive it gets. It seems like a lot of iPhone and iPad users are like the graphic whores from the PS360 community, who used to bash the Wii for it's weak graphics. Well, look who sold more units and actually did something for the gaming community. And with that I'm over and out before I start a flame war here.

I'd swim along side Australia. NZ is nearly to the right side of Australia. Better yet, I'd swim to Australia, jog the beach, then swim to NZ. I am sure if I didn't lose my life in the process, I'd lose 50 pounds.

Just under not in and Australia is its own continent anyway.

"New Zealand is an oceanic island far from a continent and thus, like the Caribbean, it is not on a continent but is often considered to be part of the "Australia and Oceania" region."

a glorified tap, tap game... Love how iOS kids keep talking about "X" just kills your batteries and turn around and waste battery life on an idiotic videogame that all you do is time taps and swipes

keep saying it, iOS is the dumbing down of apple

I'm really hoping we start seeing more AirPlay enable games like RealRacing. I think there is a huge opportunity here and I love how RealRacing 2 HD works with Apple TV. I think Apple can continue working on the backend to make AirPlay even better for gaming and we are set. I might actually buy IB2 just to try it out. Looks visually impressive.

Infinity Blade II at $6.99.
Infinity Blade I is on sale at like $2.99.

Waiting a year to save $4 doesn't seem worth it to me, although I'm sure that over the next few months there will be a number of good updates to Infinity Blade II that may make it a better game (for those who wait to buy). I got Infinity Blade I recently and a lot of the walkthroughts that I found on the web were from previous versions which didn't have a lot of the cool weapons and equipment that were apparently added on in later updates over the months.

It is also the Rise of Apple.

Deal with it.

I'm primarily a console/handheld gamer but there's a lot of hype around this game. Thought I'd give it a try, just sounds interesting.

Then I read there's a clear gap between things the player can unlock ingame and things you have to buy through the in-app store.

No sir. That's a cheap tactic so I'll buy something else.

Just wanted to let you guys know that some users are experiencing some lag and slowdowns during gameplay and cutscenes on iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4g with iOS 5. Beware :(

Edit: Epic's community co-ordinator has confirmed that an update for Infinity Blade 1 to optimise it for iOS 5 and A4 is coming soon.

Dubble Edit: No Multiplayer WTF??? :(

iOS doesn't support OpenGL, it supports OpenGL/ES, which is currently at version 2.0

But throwing around impressive tech mumbo-jumbo is fun.

ಠ_ಠ

Console gamers and iOS gamers are 2 entirely different markets.

Also who wants to play infinity blade on consoles when there's actual good games on consoles
