Ok, then Apple will all their trillions still can't do a proper product launch. People are having their iPhone orders delayed all the while Apple launches the phone in a couple dozen new countries.

Or do they do it intentionally to keep the hype going for several month instead of meeting the demand and let the buzz fizzle away?

Lol, it's hard to imagine the blinders people have on sometimes.
Have you EVER worked out the logistics of something before??!! Maybe a wedding? A charity event? Anything at all??
Well... if you ever do, you may notice that there are a lot of details; many of which can impact your final outcome. The logistics of shipping iPhones are near incomprehensible.
NEVER have there been consumer electronics products that sell like the iPhone. Never has ANY company had to try to organize this type of rollout to this kind of demand. They have to plan the countries rolling out to & lock in shipping agreements MONTHS ahead of time. Lol at your very, very immature & "spoiled child" logic of "just have them reroute a different country's shipment here to me in America". Awwwwwww..... did Apple forget wittle scruffy is the most important human on the planet again?? Maybe if you hold your breath & stomp your feet, they'll quit being a global company & will ONLY ship to America for you, sweetheart.
Occam's Razor plays out nicely here- is it more likely that Apple is utilizing the insane output of the Chinese factories that have mass hiring sprees to produce their products as fast as possible, to the best of their ability, with some minor hiccups due to sheer barely controllable magnitude of such an endeavor... or is this unheard of volume of sales shipments so cake & so controllable that Apple not only has a COMPLETE handle on it, but can actually afford the luxury of holding back shipments purposefully & playing silly games because production is SO far ahead of schedule & demand in general?
I've heard your conspiracy theory tinged take... I wonder if anybody else cares to weigh in?

This is all comparable to a South Park episode, for all the fans out there, where Cartman finally gets his own amusement park. He told everyone the couldn't get in, so naturally everyone rushed to try to get in. Same thing here.

Please stop with the "non-Steve Apple" nonsense. It is clear, and stated in the OP, that Apple is being hamstrung by Intel's delay of Broadwell. If you are displeased by the situation, imagine Apple's reaction.

Except that Apple still gets the same processors as everyone else, whether Broadwell is there or not, so at least it doesn't make any difference to Apple's competitiveness.

Of course they will lose some sales to people who are either upgrade fanatics, or to people who sensible wait until a model comes out that is considerable better; that's the same problem that every other company has. _Maybe_ Apple has more "upgrade fanatics", or maybe they are just on MacRumors.

First : imagine apple will produce and stock 20million of phones for each model before launch... Whatever the number of factories, this will take a while...

The simple fact is that Apple is building these phones as fast as they can, so the only way to stockpile 20 million of each model before launch is to delay the launch until 20 million of each are built. So Apple could have launched the new iPhones some time in January and everyone in the world gets their phone immediately. Not really helpful.

I'm under (perhaps the wrong belief) that the "upgrade" desire is less for iPads than for iPhones. Again - perhaps I'm wrong. But truth be told - I'm still happily rocking my original iPad. While new devices are thinner, have a better screen and a camera (and obviously faster) - I haven't been uber moved to get a new tablet.

Yeah, going to suck seeing such a beautiful display and not being able to utilize it with my setup, they should be able to produce a standalone display.

I'm certainly not buying an iMac just to use the display with my MacBook Pro.

It might be worth buying one to use as a TV if you only watch streaming or local media (like I do).

Sour grapes from one person who has yet to get their phone. News flash: you want one, get up and get to an Apple Store on launch day.

Sent from my iPhone 6

It's not worth my time to do that. :)

American exceptionalism at its best. You can smell the sense of entitlement.

 It's an American company that has it's largest market in the US.

Limited time! Hurry! Call now!

Honestly, at this point, every headline should read

"New iDevice Supplies WILL Be Limited Following Launch"

It's just a given now...

I'm guessing you have no familiarity with SCM. Money has nothing to do with this. The fact that Apple can ramp up and build so many devices so quickly while maintaining quality control is nothing short of amazing. No other company in the world has to deal with this level of demand.

Samsung builds more smartphones, but the vast majority of them are relatively low tech that gets pumped out throughout the year; not quite the same thing as meeting demand for hundreds of millions of their latest Galaxy and Note series in one quarter.

iPad Air 2

If the iPad Air includes 2GB of RAM, you can ship mine now. Thank you.

"It's been way too long"

Apple must be admitting the mistake they made when launching the disproportionate, ugly, and stretched iPhone 5 and 5S models.

It's great that the iP6 came along and finally corrected that whole debacle. :p

Tomorrow, we'll see new iPads and popssibly a new iPod Touch?

I think Apple will announce all it has to offer right now even if the release isn't quite here yet like the iWatch.

Hopefully they update the Airport Express too... that needs an upgrade to AC!!

It might never come. I have read discussions on MacRumors about the problem with implementing beam forming antennas in a package the size and shape of the Airport Express.

I think you can have ac without beam forming but would Apple want to introduce such a device?

Who'

Gee, this sounds soOoo encouraging I can hardly wait. Oh, but after reading this convoluted statement a fourth time, I see that we may have to wait after all.

"Of the new products, we think the market will be more interested in iPad Air 2. However, as the poor yield rate of anti-reflective coating cover lens has delayed mass production, we estimate 2014 shipments of iPad Air 2 of 7- 9mn units, lower than the 12mn units of the then-new iPad Air shipments in 2013. We thus expect iPad Air 2 to contribute less to the supply chain than iPad Air did last year. We also don’t expect the event to boost supply chain shares much."

I have no idea, but there are already other AC extenders out there like this one? I wouldn't mind it being slightly bigger if it helps extend the range of AC around my house. It would be cute to see a mini version of the Airport Extreme tower :D

Some of you guys in America are just arseholes. At least you still have the damn option of buying the phone online and waiting just 2 to 3 weeks for them.

Other countries like ours, despite being the first wave of countries to launch the iPhone with the US, can no longer order iPhones online AFTER PRE-ORDER DAY!

Sales of iPhone 6 and 6+ were completely stopped, and no one could order one at all. And since there are no Apple Stores here, no one can probably get any iPhone (without a carrier contract) before the end of 2014.

While I admit that us spoiled Yanks’ have the hometown advantage, it's simply because Apple's epicenter is here. Conversely, if you happen to be in the UK, then you would have quicker access to a Jag, or if you live in Italy, you could go downtown and pick out an Alfa Romeo of your choice in minutes. More on point, I just paid for a new iPhone 6-Plus, and I may not receive it until December.

First : imagine apple will produce and stock 20million of phones for each model before launch... Whatever the number of factories, this will take a while...

Secondly : work with no logistics and assets... A device stored in a place is COSTING MONEY. It takes space, you need pay people to secure the place and it does not get added value except taking dust. So point of view of logistics this is the worst investment to have stock stuck in one place...

And new factories for temporarily spike in demand is completely nonsense for viable company. You cannot open temporary factories like that...

So stop complaining, i live in Switzerland and I got my iPhone 6 on launch day, there were a lot of stock there... For some friends they daily check the apple stock and my friend got his 6+ this week-end. So yeah 2-3 weeks waiting time ? Wow is that too long ?

With people like you, whatever how apple will handling it it will not reach your expectations so please feel free to go buy a droid device and bye.

People like me, normal consumers who don't worship giant corporations?

Mac Mini?

No one wants a Mac Mini anymore? It was perfect for a NY apartment, or the back of your TV.
