I for one am looking forward to an intel-free ecosystem. I’ve got a Ryzen 5900X 3080ti gaming pc for heavy duty workloads and hopefully an M1X MacBook Pro for everything else in a week.
Such a weird comment. Seems to me that the best chip should win the buyers. I too am on a Ryzen 5900x but if intel builds a better chip for the price then what do I care? I’ll just buy it.

by Making Better Chips Than Apple"

Good luck with that...for the next 3-4 years its impossible to make better chips for their platform dear Intel

Best they can hope for is that they catch up with the manufacturing processes of TSMC and Apple will let them produce them with THEIR design.

It is very unlikely Apple will give up having custom designs.

I'm so excited for Apple modems

We got ya covered. 😁

Now, everyone should be onboard for this; there is no notch. ;)

It’s over Intel. Apple left you because YOU couldn’t deliver. The bridge is burned also.

Apple decided to go fully independent by developing their own chip, and the result paid off. Simply put, ARM is the future. And with Windows 11 having better ARM support, more and more PC manufacturers will be moving to either Snapdragon or even build their own chips.

Also, more companies are switching to AMD Ryzen processor which is much superior to what you guys have. And much more competitive to what Apple has to offer

give it up Intel. Sell the company to either Google or Microsoft or shut it down.

Intel Xe iGPU and Quick Sync video encoding/decoding are already better than Apple M1. Only thing Intel is missing is outsourcing to TSMC or Samsung 5nm or 3nm. If Intel does that I'll give up AMD and Apple and go back to Intel.

As it stands right now AMD > Intel > Apple.
That is a big thing that they are missing and it is not easily fixable! What is even bigger that they are missing is that Intel lost its imagination! They are done! All of these companies used to look down at Apple! This is hilarious!

Maybe she should forward this memo to her Marketing Department so they can stop utterly embarrassing themselves every day.

I don’t get this company. They continue to publicly mock Apple through ads, and now they claim they can win back Apple’s business? Does this guy really think that bridge will ever be rebuilt? You should be focusing on life sans-Apple, and stop pretending they didn’t break up with you.

He knows they'll never come back but he's the CEO of the company he can't just say, yeah we messed up so bad we lost their business for life. He has to make positive statements, helps the stock stay solid he can't say anything negative, always be putting a positive spin on bad news it's just how it's done.

As for Apple it's clear they want to ultimately own every part of what they make and credit to them this strategy has paid off for them.

Seems like an odd statement.
I'm looking for sometimes the best performance, sometimes cost, sometime other factors and often a mixture of those. Who cares what the brand is unless there is an ethical reason to avoid.

Unless I have the wrong end of the stick, sounds like you have an axe to grind with Intel?

Intel better keep a good relationship with Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Razer, etc. At least they still have them. Hooray(?)

nope. Those companies are starting to hate on Intel as well. All those companies have or have plans for ARM based laptops or switch to AMD, and would not be surprised if they decided to start making their own ARM chip. (Dell, HP and Razer, I feel will make their own ARM chip)

Remember Steve, (and hence Apple), going 'thermo nuclear' on Google but still using their services?

He's new actually, he took over as CEO in February. Perhaps he hasn't even had time to watch Intel's time share like marketing to Mac Owners yet before making that claim about beating Apple processors with his better ones! :D

Not for nothing, but this is the same that Verizon did during the iPhone 3G and 3GS days, with every ad they made bashing Apple all over the place because they thought that the iPhone was just a gimmick and passed on it (they preferred the motorola Droids). ATT jumped all over it, and signed a 3-year exclusive deal with Apple for it.

When that deal ended, Verizon basically acted as if those ads didn't exist and nothing happened to soil that relationship, to the point where Apple had their own separate event announcing the iPhone 4 for Verizon after announcing and releasing the iPhone 4 with ATT and T-Mobile.

Intel could be hoping for the same thing; however in Verizon's defense, Verizon didn't burn Apple with a subpar component to one of their flagship products.

Even Linus Sebastian, and intel supporter, showed the M1 beating the sh*t out of the intel Xe in X86 games.
The Intel Xe is way slower than the M1.

As for hardware video encoding, the M1 is also faster than Quick Sync, though it would be interesting to compare the quality of the output.

though with Verizon they don’t supply apple with hardware though so with them being with apple since iPhone 4 both companies have a win win situation compared to intel in this case

though in the case a company wishes to buy Intel in case they are up for sale because of they’re stuff ups It will be the ARM/NVIDIA fiasco all over again IMO

I want the M1X to outclass every single chipset Intel has ever made. Intel is the next IBM. Apple’s 1984 ad is the perfect illustration of Intel’s monopoly on the chipset market right now. And if you think that Apple would ever pick up the gum they left on the sidewalk? Apple Silicon will destroy Intel right now and AMD’s lower end lineup should be pissing itself right now. The competition should be scared of Apple’s Johny Srouji Silicon Team right now. If you disagree with me, reevaluate your viewpoints.
Why would AMD be scared of Apple chips? Apple don't, and won't, sell their chips to their competitors, or anyone. And because of the M1, every man and his dog is launching into ARM chip development.

They could theoretically make similar chip architecture to compete against Apple Silicon. It's not happening tomorrow. However, Intel is already adapting with their 12th gen chips which are somewhat of a hybrid and a transition. I don't get the whole anti-Intel thing, especially if you're an American. I think also Intel will invest not solely in designing, but becoming a foundry to other's chip designs, much like TSMC. This is how Intel gets back Apple's business. Which only made up I believe about 5% of their revenues.
Intel deserves the whole anti-Intel thing, for each time they had design flaws to each time they pushed computer makers to not use anyone else's processors.

Intel will take years to catch up with the likes of TSMC because they have/had bad engineers

Oh and intel being foundry to the likes of TSMC is confirming that they are the losers in this case, remember how intel didn’t rely on anyone in this regard because x86 was the lead for decades now poor intel has to rely on TSMC and it’s technology all because they stuffed up developing 10nm and you know it mate
