Well if an OS update means up to 30% slower machine, I'm not updating. I'll take my chances.
Yeah i agree, thats a bit much for a performance drop

Yep. Faster performance. Longer battery life. More features. No boot camp. Gonna suck. What a way to turn the Mac into an absolute joke.
It feels like Intel saw Apple’s announcement about iPhone battery/performance issues and said ‘hey, we can make a bigger splash than that!’.
That one also has a bum GPU![]()
No it doesn’t. You have to compare to a thirty percent degraded 7 year old chip.
Damn. That i7 4770 has been looking long in the tooth anywayIt’s not loss, it’s stealing it. And once folks have a chance to weaponize this, chances are high.
It was known as the AIM Alliance (Apple-Intel-Motorola) in the 90's.
Slowdowns you say? Maybe my MBP will see improved battery life.![]()

You can just go buy a real PC for a hundred bucks, and get better performance too.Slower performance due to the amount of emulation required to run software, myself and many people depend on boot camp, early oboselence for their current hardware, the same stuffing around we had for the intel translation except this time it's pointless, no guarantee of performance or battery life improvements.
Back to the dark PPC days.
You will. Seems legit. Some are saying this is a rumor only. With massive potential security implications, if true, we'd also be seeing this in several news sources.
I'm not interest in carrying around another machine when boot camp means carrying one. It all ready costs an arm and a leg to buy an overpriced Mac so why would I want to purchase another machine in addition? You can just go buy a real PC for a hundred bucks, and get better performance too.
This is more of a master key problem.Meh, that flaw is only an issue if someone has physical access to your machine and certain privileges already. That's like giving someone the key to your home and then blaming the lock company when they steal stuff.
Sounds like you consider windows software to be an important requirement. At some point you’ll have to accept that Apple doesn’t really share your priorities. Maybe this year. So you speak on behalf of Apple?
People have different requirements and you don't speak for them all.
I’d also bet INTEL knew about this WELLLLLLLLL before this announcement. Like many, many years before.Bet the NSA knew about this all along.
Yeah, I believe this may be a push for Apple to make the move. They've been getting their practice in with chipsets for iOS devices now for 10+ years. This sucks because i JUST bought the 2017 MBP.
It's not a bug it's a feature!
