Not sure Intel are the best company to represent the PC market in today landscape , but alas , they are trying to create some buzz around PC vs Apple , they know they are on a clock , if we believe the rumors the next MBP16 will have best in class CPU , best in class display , best in class trackpad , best in class battery life , great keyboard (cant say its the best as its subjective) , best in class build quality , best in class speakers , and also some extra connectivity (according to the rumors , but who knows).

Aren't there FTC rules again's Justin's opening? "Just a real person" as if Justin did this for free? Hell no, this is a paid spokesperson just like he was paid to schill for Apple back in the day. For 100 grand a spot, I'd crap on any company you want me to crap on. I'll still own a Mac at home but if you want me to say windows is better and you're going to pay me, I'm all in!

A) Dongles have nothing to do with the CPU inside, dongles are needed for INTEL macs! There are many PC laptops with INTEL inside that also need dongles. What are they trying to proof by bringing up dongles?
B) The replies to the tweet on tweeter are almost universally backlash at INTEL for posting something this idiotic.

Talk about shooting yourself on foot. Actually not too hard when you are wearing giant clown shoes.

We are all used to them now - but remember the collective outrage in 2016 when the 4 port USB-C MBP came out?

I really hope the new MBPs have a few extra ports. Kind of like an X1 yoga or something - 1 USB A, HDMI etc.

Having said that - these ads are pretty lame - they are attacking Apple, while their processors are still being sold in Apple's computers. I'm wondering if Apple breaking up with Intel in some boardroom a year ago maybe didn't go so smoothly....

Indeed, Intel must be really, really, really nervous. All those ads remind me of the Blackberry ads making fun of the iPhone. Intel should move to ARM, as Apple has done. The writing is on the wall.

Yeah. Because I always need 8 different types of connection whenever I go out.

I'm also envious of my Wintel friends who have laptops with the said 8 connections.

I actually don't get why this is necessary. Intel has regained the single-perf crown with Rocket Lake S. Yes it's a 125-watt CPU still 14nm and M1 is a 10-watt CPU, but props to Intel I guess for squeezing every oz of performance from their now 6 year old 14nm process.

I love my M1 MBA and honestly it just feels like a less buggy, faster MacBook. Nothing revolutionary, just a really good computer.

Justin looks like his soul is gone. The problem with intel when your a mac guy is that the prices have to be so low for them to seem compelling. Paying hundreds of dollars for plastic and windows isn’t a plus. But bargain systems are slower than what you already have in a mac. I’m speaking of laptops. A desktop is worse because it’s just a big box that makes noise and takes up space. All the little things apple does to make their ecosystem nice really makes switching a compromise instead of an upgrade. And once your paying apple prices for a PC your already losing since a desktop could do similar for a lower price.

It’s a brilliant campaign from Intel. As a MacBook Air M1 owner I get frustrated with having to use a dongle to connect an external display or a wired mouse for that matter. But it is obvious that Intel is p1$$3d at Apple for having ditched their processors. I actually back Apple on this move as Intel have failed Apple on many occasions. Shame on Intel. But if you look at the bigger picture ARM based processors is a real threat and if Intel had any sense, they should merge with AMD to keep the old x86 architecture afloat.

So not only is Intel out the money from not selling future chips to Apple but now they are throwing money at a weird Ad campaign? Did they really sell that many chips to Apple to have this make that much of a difference to need to resort to a smear campaign to try and sway the people on the fence between a Mac and a PC?

Fitting. Truly fitting. Apple is about to make this commercial obsolete by adding ports to MacBooks. Not even Intel's commercials can stay relevant. Say what you want Intel, can't spook Apple!

The lack of ports is a limitation of the M1 chip(it's a SOC, the controller is on the processor), which is just a tweaked A14 ported from mobile. It didn't need to have a controller to support multiple USB on mobile. Or support for large amounts of ram. These first releases were pretty much to get the transition moving.

I fully expect you'll see all the ports return on the next M2 version. I'm not worried.

Well actually I like my Apple devices much more than my Windows PC in the office. But I am happy that I have a MBP 2015 with lots of ports and a M1 Mac mini with lots of ports, so the ad has a point here. I mean, the MBAs and MBPs 2016-2020 have Intel inside but it was Apple's decision to cancel ports..

With the rumors that Apple could bring back some ports in the next iteration of Macbooks, this is probably the last chance for Intel to rubbish Apple in that regard :p

Apple shipped about 70 million Macs between 2016-2020, so that's a good amount (https://www.statista.com/statistics/1189002/apple-macbook-unit-shipments-worldwide/).
