Wifi 6 is a strategic mistake, the wifi alliance should be thoughtful about their environmental impact when they keep dumping standards. after 6E when wifi operates as fast with bluetooth level power consumption maybe then it's worth the upgrade.

I get the best range out of my “G” WiFi. Somewhere over 100’. Tired other high speeds but the range was less.

Oh and what about the ASUS ROG wireless AX11000 tri-band Wi-Fi 6 gaming router?

That thing looks like is lying in wait for Skynet and will flip over and attack.

Hey honey, why is the Roomba demolished?

I may be in the market for an Apple Studio or updated Mac Mini around Christmas time. I bothers me that both so far only have Wifi 6 and not even 6E while Wifi 7 is due out soon. Apple is dragging its feet on this.

Old is old, 802.11 AC doesn’t perform as well as 802.11 AX (Wi-Fi 6). 6E is still quite new as there aren’t that many products that even suppport that in common consumer goods like TVs for example. Incorporating Wi-Fi 7 will be even further delayed it seems using 6E as a model.

For the love of everything wireless, PLEASE APPLE step back into the router game!

Hey Siri
Maybe they're waiting for the Matter standard to become finalized before entering.

Well my Mac Studio Ultra on order will have 10Gb Ethernet. My BTO 2018 Intel mini file server has the 10 Gb ethernet option. I have yet to find an inexpensive 10Gb ethernet hub to take advantage of these speeds. There are several ethernet hubs with two 10Gb and six to eight 1Gb ports. Only some have good reviews so buyers be aware.

I would gladly pay for some new Apple Airports. They are still kicking strong today but eventually will need to get replaced.

I still cant understand why they stopped making them. It works perfect with the whole it just works mantra. The integration would be second to none. If Apple is serious about some VR stuff they should be looking at one of the main bottleneck issues which is internet connection.

There was definitely a market for them, especially when all these mesh type products took off which weren't exactly cheap either.

And there is a big privacy angle that can be looked at as well, given all the traffic in your home is being routed through these devices.

I will likely be upgrading to a 14 this year, so it's nice to see that it might include support for 6E. Hopefully they can add it on the new iPads as well because I will likely be upgrading that this year too. I just upgraded from a Netgear Nighthawk X6 R8000 - AC3200 - WiFi 5 router to a Netgear Nighthawk RAXE300 WiFi 6E router mainly for VR, but it made an instant difference in speeds the other devices get. We've had 450 Mbps internet for a couple of months before I got the router, but I never saw speeds higher than 320 Mbps. 450 on the dot with the new router, plus the range is a lot better. I can only imagine what double speeds with WiFi 7 will be like. I will probably upgrade to gigabit fiber at that point.
