Q - Does 3 include any wifi hotspots?

They don't usually. However, in my experience it's pretty rare to not get 3 3G coverage, even out in the sticks. I'm in semi-rural West Yorkshire and rarely get less than a 3G / 3.5G signal on my Nokia where people with Orange, O2 and Vodafone struggle.

If you are in London like me then I guess O2 is still one to consider because of all the wifi access you get.

Interestingly enough my iPad order said "SHIPPED" last saturday, with a status report...

now it still says shipped but with no details... you can't track the shipment.

Are they shipping every single tomorrow night?!

As a UK resident I took it with a pinch of salt and found it quite amusing. You do know though, that Jonathan Ive the designer of 'magical' Apple things, is British?

This is what makes America great. All the good people from the rest of the world come here.

:)

By the way I hope you all enjoy your iPads.

My order tracking (UK) now says delivery tomorrow (27th)

Mine still says in transit from Nuneaton... Fingers crossed it gets to wellingborough tonight as I might have a chance of getting one tomorrow too! I'm going on holiday on friday and leaving the house at 12:30 :(

Considering the amount PCWord charge for a USB cable or Ethernet cable I am not sure I could work there! My local shop sells a USB cable for 1/3rd of the £15 PC world charges and still makes £4 off each sale!!

I am with 3 for my mobile broadband and have to say I have had no problems - my girlfriend however has had nothing but issues with their customer service. I guess its a case of do you need support if it doesnt work!

Belkin Cables are now £4.99, a much better deal than £15 as the PC Line used to be (which are now £9.99)

Yes, some prices are still dear, but as I mentioned previously, the prices are significantly better, I got a 10M Ethernet cable for £4.99!!

The Epson (Cheetah) inks are the same price as Tescos.

Just seen this on the UPS tracking page:-

NORWICH, GB 27/05/2010 6:25 OUT FOR DELIVERY
27/05/2010 5:19 DESTINATION SCAN
27/05/2010 4:20 ARRIVAL SCAN
TAMWORTH, GB 27/05/2010 0:14 DEPARTURE SCAN
TAMWORTH, GB 26/05/2010 20:31 ORIGIN SCAN
GB 26/05/2010 4:17 BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

Looks like my ipad 32gb 3g is coming a day early!

On the way

Got an email at 11PM (French time) last night, saying my iPad, Camera Kit and cover on the way from Holland and due for delivery 28th (subject to change).

That certainly is cheaper than when I was last in there, might even go and check it out again!

For me 3g is more important than wifi as we only have a couple of wifi hotspots in our town, as my 3gs works fine on 3g I cant see that my forthcomming iPad wont (defo a 3g version for me!).

And it's arrived!!

And it's arrived here too! Blast, going out tonight - anyone want to look after it until tomorrow for me? :)

Movistar Spain

For anyone in Spain with a iPhone (Tarifa Plana iPhone Plus or Premium) the 3G service will be FREE!!!! for ONE YEAR but you have to apply for your duplicate MicroSIM before the 31 of October, after this date it will be 14 euros activation and 4 euros Month

www.movistar.es/ipad

Was going to buy the wifi version, as I pay huge bills to Movistar every month for the landline, internet 10Megas and iPhone, but if they give me one year free will have to get the wifi/3g version :)

I think it is just to keep people from leaving as they lose the exclusivity with Apple this year. but who cares!! Vodafone and Orange are both crappy service providers in Spain anyways :p

Lazy French TNT Couriers

Literally in the last few minutes, TNT have changed my scheduled delivery from today to Monday. Of course I had arranged to be in all day today, whereas Monday, I have arranged to visit someone in hospital in Monaco. It is sitting in Marseille but the TNT guys are too lazy or busy drinking Pernod and eating garlic sausage sandwiches (it smells like that when they deliver something to me) to get off their backsides and get a delivery out to a customer. P*****d off - too right I am.
