Are there many people in Canada who have "processing" still?
It's been 4 hours and my other iphone hasn't changed to prepared for shipment!

I'm in the same boat (in Winnipeg). My 32GB Black is "Preparing for Shipment", but my 32GB White is still "Processing"

Haha, that's funny.. My white 16gb is "preparing for shipment" but my black 32gb is still "processing" .... why can't they just do everything all together!! ahhh

Australians are starting to see status changing to "Shipped"! There are several posts on Whirlpool confirming this. They are indeed shipping out from within Australia and not from China. The carrier is TNT Express and it's expected to be here by Friday!

There are three users who have confirmed that they have gotten confirmation E-Mails. Very stoked. As long as they're not all lying..

flipping awesome!

I'm in Australia and my status is still on "Processing" for my 64GB Black. For anyone in Australia with the "Preparing for Shipment" status, have you received a tracking number? If you did, any info on where it is, and expected delivery date? I'm starting to worry, yet I'm really excited!

You won't receive a tracking number until it changes status to Shipped.

However, I wouldn't worry too much. If you managed to get a "Ships by 14th", then you will probably receive it on Monday at the latest...

You will receive a tracking number when your status changes to "Shipped", and not before that. You will receive a confirmation E-Mail like what I posted in the screenshot that will include a tracking number.

The current expected delivery date for those who ordered within minutes of the store coming online is still Oct 14, as you can see.

Mine changed to 'Preparing for shipment' about 10pm last night, but no tracking number, as that won't appear until it changes to 'shipped' and a tracking button appears.

Lucky Australians! First you get the cool accents, then you get the 4S.

Colour me envious green. This poor Canadian is still stuck at the processing stage. :( This is probably why we're good at alcohol.

We Australians are not really known for our sobriety either... :)

Keep in mind we are living in the future here. In whatever the time difference is, movement should start at your end of the world too.

But we're basically all descendants of British convicts, so we have the awesome Brits to thank for it all. :D

And we're *****'s when it comes to drinking, that's why we made our own small pints up as we can't handle the proper UK imperial pints.

Canadian iPhone 4S 16GB (Unlocked): $649 CAD ($627 AUD)
Australian iPhone 4S 16GB (Unlocked): $826 CAD ($799 AUD)

I'm sorry. I'd rather receive my phone one week late compared to paying almost $200 more than you! You Canadians have no rights to complain about anything.

Hahah, perhaps this is where we differ then. I value my time more than my money. After all, I can always make more money. ;)

...Even though that takes time. ..damn it. It's a vicious cycle!

P.S. We can still complain about the ice weather here! Not to mention our obnoxious neighbours. Heh! I kid, I kid, I love you too U.S.A.

They probably have thousands of status orders to change for people. So I hope mine is next in cue soon. I will be so disappointed if I don't get mine tomorrow. Fingers crossed my status changes soon!

Australian prices include 10% GST.

Canadian prices do not include tax, which is up to 15% in Nova Scotia and 12-13% in BC and Ontario.

The 10% GST does not justify the $200 difference.
No, but the 14% drop in the AUD vs the USD in the last several months justfies the price difference on top of the tax built in as a buffer.

Compared to the USD right now, ex-tax, Aussies pay $44 more for the 16GB. In three months time that could be $0. In six months time that could be negative. The price set for the 4S has to last until the iPhone 5.

Yes, Australians pay more for the iPhone, particularly compared to Canada where it's the cheapest in the world right now, but compared to everything else (ie double on a copy of Windows, triple on a copy of Photoshop, and often at times double for Steam games *sold in USD*), Apple's AU prices are very good.

Really?! For true? No foolies?!

My order is still "Processing". Ships by 14th October. Black 32GB ordered at around 7:30pm est (australia) which I think is about an hour after preorders opened. Got my confirmation email at 7:50pm. Expecting it to be delivered by Monday at the earliest. (but I've always got some hope that I might see it tomorrow)

We should still consider ourselves lucky. If I were living in Poland right now, I'd have to wait till late October or early November to get my hands on the iPhone 4S. Imagine how frustrated they feel! I've been spending my time playing with voice recognition on my mac, preparing myself for Siri =D
