I would be really interested in something like that, something that looks nice next to my iMac and that is also an Apple product rather than WesternDigital. But either way i need more hard drive space and the my book looks like the best thing to get for my needs and budget.

After reading these posts, it's amazing how much they have in common with the posts 2 years ago when everyone hated the name of the yet to be released MacBooks.

Doesn't matter.

Macbook > Macbook Air.

Macbook Air is a ridiculously stupid name, and about 90% of posters both here and Appleinsider tend to agree. The name is STUPID.

a "Dreambook" would be

Super slim Macbook in Magnesium with an exchangeable SSD(now prob. 32GB) with a 13" Display and Keyboard+ "dock" with A BIG harddisk Blueray/DVDoption and heavy duty Videocard. It could all happen tomorrow ...;-)

But what about "AirBook"? I could see that.

I'm not sure if you know or not, but the whole point of Apple calling the notebook line 'MacBook' and 'MacBook Pro' is to have Mac in the name of the product. Apple isn't going to release any Mac computer with a name that doesn't feature Mac in it.

Oops, forgot about that, although I did know about it.

Then my second guess would be "MacBook mini"

I couldn't see it being called MacBook Air, you're right it is stupid.

Nah,

When I hear that I think of "Air Jordan" for some reason, one of Nike's old sneaker campaigns. I think the Airbook would be too synonymous with Nike IMHO.

What about SlimBook? Or MacThin? Or ThinMac??

iBook ????? ;) Powerbook?

I've heard rumors about how they are adding a blue-ray drive, which I think is highly unlikely.

I actually find it very likely that Apple would incorporate a BD drive as an option. They are on the Blu-ray board, so this doesn't seem like a far stretch.

Attendees will find these under their chairs.

... Because WiMacBook just wasn't gonna work.

Why MacBook Air? Because WiMacBook just wasn't gonna work.
I for one welcome my new Sprint/Google/Apple WiMax overlords.

I won't mind the wireless usb either. I am tired of jacking in printers/scanners that never seem to work connected to usb print servers.
Now we just need a solution for wireless video to my desktop display... or is that why we need the rumored docking station?

I do agree that it sounds bad macbook air.
I would like to say come on. When the marketing doing the brainstorming for brand names or product names. There are millions of them comes about and "Macbook air" could be one of those that is rejected.

I would put my bet that "Something is in the air" refers to the possible rental and streaming of movies arrangement.

If "Macbook Air" can materilise in this coming macexpo, I will write a proposal to ask OSX to be put into the periodic table.

True, Mac 'Air' would make no sense at all. A rumor spun off of a banner referring to a new movie download service has taken a life of its own - sadly amusing.

Yes! Something like that would be awesome! Of course, something like this could be offered as a simple software solution, installable on a Mini (or in my dreams, even on a linux system), but the ease-of-use and price point of such a hardware "iLife Air" station, as you showed in your pics, would make this a very attractive product for many families with multiple Macs.

Your hidden video didn't work. YouTube said it wasn't a valid URL. Was it supposed to? Have I been used?

"A sound tech for Phil (Collins) and he is booked to appear at MAC WORLD with Steve (Shhh!)
And we don't have any ideas what is being released by Apple before you ask. Just booked to Play In the air tonight, which by the way StreetyKing is copy righted - You have been warned!!!"
