iOS 10 Concept Features Dark Mode, Split Screen for iPhone

I hate concepts that aren't even based in solid rumors. Why in the world do these things get front page billing?
Holy crap. Messages looks awesome with the dark mode. The message bubbles pop, and you can actually see the effect where messages near the top are a lighter color.
Yeah Apple really should add customizable control center and dark mode then most of us would be very happy.. After that, add person by person read receipts, ability to lock particular apps/message threads/photo albums.. Multiple user support (add like a "family" or "guest" user for a particular finger print or passcode) would be awesome. Text selection on all iPhones would be sweet as well. I'd love to see a more in depth cellular usage and battery usage screen. With cellular usage I would love to see an option to have the settings reset every month on a customizable day, turn off cellular after a certain amount of data used, better tethering screen where you could hide your hotspot so you have to put in the SSID to find it, a list of devices that are connected and an ability to kick certain ones off or set data limits for particular devices, etc. Battery usage screen could use a specific "total screen on time" at the bottom. Also app-based battery usage stats for THAT battery cycle, not the last 24 hours which includes a portion of the previous cycle.. Better distinction between "standby" and "usage"...
Also a random little thing. I kinda wish Apple would let us hide the carrier name in the upper left
only the "domestic" carrier though, if you're roaming AT ALL you obviously want to know. Any reason why Apple can't do this? Android phones don't show carrier names but their status bars are a mess as it is.
Above all, I want a minor UI redesign. I think we definitely could see it. We tend to see changed roughly every 3 iOS versions. iPhone OS 3 refined a bit, iOS 4 brought big changes to springboard/animations, iOS 6 refined then iOS 7 redesigned, iOS 8 and 9 have both refined and it's feeling stale already. I just want more drop shadows, slightly muted colors, and a little less Gaussian blur, for the sake of performance.
This. I don't know if Apple will do total black to be honest though, that would save the most battery but look kinda ugly I think. Probably just a very dark gray. That still takes less energy than bright blue for example, right?

I'd consider moving off 9.2 for this, but depends on what other innovative bugs Apple introduce in 10.
Just turn on airplane mode and then re-enable wifi and bluetooth. Yeah, you have to tap all three buttons, but it's all right there in control center.
I was excited when it came out but the menu bar icon for CrashPlan is lame (still non-retina and has no white mode) which is why I wasn't using it. It looks awesome though, so I just ditched the icon.
It'd be really nice if they could do something like themes that Samsung does. Let people theme the whole OS like they want. Then if people want a dark theme its no problem, and Apple doesn't have to maintain it. Want a pink theme, go ahead. It would open up a lot of possibilities and I think they could do it in a really good way.
It boggles my mind to this day that Mr. Ive and Mr. Cook wake up every morning to have their eyeballs singed to hell by the blinding white Clock app and have never thought "huh... maybe we could give people a dark mode".
There's no reason not to. Staring into a white screen in a dark environment is brutal. I set my triple-click-home to invert colours which does help quite a bit.

this is all i've wanted for years and every year I'm disappointed... I'm still disappointed with the ******** OS X "dark mode"
Does no one at Apple use their iPad for night time reading? It's either invert colors with Accessibility mode (then all the photos are messed up) or stare into the blinding white light of a thousand suns. Circadian rhythms be damned...

"Dark mode" and OLED screens, both of which won't happen, because Apple engineers don't work in a vacuum.
Can you chill before we know the real features of iOS 10? This is purely a concept, bud. Just wait one more week to rip Tim a new ******* for his actions
I'm referring to the use of "reinvent" and "again" both of which Apple has used many times in its previous campaigns. I wasn't suggesting this should be the marketing concept.

I just wish the author of this article would expand ones horizons to include the iPad and later versions of the iPod Touch for new iOS versions.

You do realize this is pure speculation from a website and not the official feature set list of iOS 10 from Apple, right?

I won't say "finally..." until it's real. Concept images that don't come officially from Apple are worth a "hopefully...".
Apple is either planning this for iOS 10 or they are not. And if they are not, then what power does "finally" have?
