Preparing for OLED screens next year

The minute I saw the WWDC invitation I thought about OLED and dark mode.
But why release the dark mode one year in advance? I don't think OLED will make its way to the iPhone in 2016 and I'd expect such a change to iOS to happen the same year as OLED.
I wonder if it will be mandatory or an option to select in settings

Can we all give this a collective, "Finally..."?

I love this, and feel ALL such devices from ALL makes/models/brands not just Apple, should ALWAYS have a "Dark Mode" It's just shameful that such a Obvious, fundamental, and let's be honest here, embarrassingly simple thing should be so hard and take so long to get implemented.

It'#s the type of thing people were doing in to 1980's setting colour and brightness options.
Just how it's "News" and "Something New" in 2016 is, let's be honest.... Bloody shameful.

I wonder if there will be any potential power saving with dark modes for later iPhones, Samsung have an always on mode which seems to imply OLED might be able to do this?

Excellent. Still, iOS 6 imo looked better... Anyway, please just give the iPhone 7 a flush camera and I'll buy... >_>
Also, add multitasking (real multitasking!), remove the Flight Mode button in favor of a 3G/LTE button and local storage (iCloud just offline)

There's me thinking this is what the next iOS version will have...... To then discover no it's just some more random made up stuff by some random artist.

I wish Apple would fix iOS bugs first, like trying to highlight text which usually ends up in a frustrated throwing the phone across the room action.
More intelligent scrolling would be nice too. It needs to handle different websites better.

Does anyone have experience with android phones on this?
I see android devices around the place with their dark interfaces, always looks worse in my opinion. Maybe better for evenings?
I think the most important thing is to have options, eventually try them doubling the chance to be satisfied. By the way, yes. In the evening it comes very handy. And awful in bright environments

I cant remember the last time we had a really impressive feature.

For the iPad iOS surely its time for multi user login

I don't think there is anything iOS 10 could bring that would make me excited. I'm officially over the smart phone craze.

I will keep my 6 plus until it dies,it does everything I will ever need from a device.

Force touch is a joke, the Apple Watch and wearables in general are a big waste of money.

I'm realizing more and more these are all devices to control humans lol.

Haha people getting all excited over a "dark mode".

I think apple will release split screen multitasking on the iPhone , but just with the 5.5 inch 7+ or the rumored 5.8 inch iPhone pro?

I would love the iPad Pro to have a simple file manager in iOS 10. and use the same screen as the split screen app selector, to choose with which app you can open a file in the file manager .

But what I want most in the future, perhaps iOS 11, is a way to use an arm based Mac OS on the iPad Pro . When a keyboard is added through smartconnector, you get a choice of working in iOS or MacOs mode.
Without keyboard you can only select iOS.
But they should develop a keyboard cover with a trackpad then. And perhaps even a keyboard cover with additional hw inside to make it more powerful and work in parallel through smart connector with the iPad hardware to get a more powerful machine.(dual a11x?)

I really do not care about dark mode. How's my HTML emails going to display in that mode?
I would suggest using transparent PNG files instead of JPG's for a start for images and/or logos. Make the text in your signature a nice professional shade of grey that can be easily seen and read using both white and black backgrounds. Anything picked up as regular text should be turned white automatically in a dark mode.

Just turn on airplane mode and then re-enable wifi and bluetooth. Yeah, you have to tap all three buttons, but it's all right there in control center.
Why tap three buttons when you can just tap one? Plus Airplane Mode turns off GPS.

matte black iphone with glowing oled apple logo able to show variety of colours for different notifications.
