Would the iOS 10 Dark Mode work for the iPads?

I just wish the author of this article would expand ones horizons to include the iPad and later versions of the iPod Touch for new iOS versions.

God, the world nor the universe doesn't revolve around the iPhone.

Sorry for my rant.
Absolutely it would work for the iPads. Without a doubt. It also would work on AppleTV and Microsoft Surface.

These are just fan-fiction concept art, so in your imagination they can work on any device.

We don't yet know if Apple is planning to introduce Dark Mode in the official iOS 10 release.

Nice option, but won't do much for those who's primary use for their iOS devices is web browsing. Will still have to deal with stark white web pages.

I really am at the cusp of switching to a Sony phone. Been on iOS since the 3GS and feel it's time to jump ship.

Better than Apple seeds iOS, OSX, TV OS, watch OS anyday.
It would be one thing if it was a concept based on actual rumors but it's based on nothing. It reminds me of a couple years ago when we got a front page story of a lame concept of what widgets could look like on iOS. Of course it was absolutely nothing like what Apple introduced.

Dark Mode? No. When that was hinted at ages ago, too many people wanted it.

If it's something everyone wants, Apple wont do it. Instead, they'll invent some totally different way to see colors darkly, in just the right conditions. When you're in those conditions, it'll look even better than dark mode. ...the rest of the time it wont be visible at all, but thats your problem.

As someone that checks his phone at 4am, I would totally welcome this. Unlocking my iPhone and being blinded and trying to go back to sleep is frustrating.

That looks nice. Didn't really give much thought into a dark mode setting for iPhone but now WANT IT!!!!
GET IT DONE TIM AND MY WALLET IS YOURS!!!!!

The upgrade is free. He already had your wallet when you bought the phone.

I'm happy for this, but I'm not excited. Been jailbreaking for a long time, and people with themes have created much better visual options for iOS for a long time now. And no, not all of them lag or slow down your device, especially with the newer ones.

****, people have created some really beautiful themes for the Messages app, and right now on stock we're stuck with a really unattractive grey with either bright green or blue. iOS is essentially bereft of customization other than for how you'd like to receive notifications.

What I'm getting at is: iOS feels really, really bland, and there's just about nothing that makes you feel like the device is "yours." And unfortunately, Apple doesn't really care much for adding customization options into the Settings. Things that are resolved by things like biteSMS (no longer updated, but other tweaks fulfill some functions,) Activator, Winterboard, Messages Customiser, TinyBar (****ing love this one.) That's just to name some, and these have been around for a while, but we fail to get anything like them unless you're lucky to be on an OS version that has a jailbreak available.

And again, to those that scoff at it, no these don't lead to a "slower and choppy OS experience" or an "unsafe device."

Probably because the iPad isn't getting OLED anytime soon. There's a reason why the Apple Watch's AMOLED screen uses a black background and the iPhone is rumored to make the switch to OLED.

This would look great on a dark phone, with glass, maybe the iPhone 8 if the rumours are true

Does anyone have experience with android phones on this?
I see android devices around the place with their dark interfaces, always looks worse in my opinion. Maybe better for evenings?

Watch all the developers follow with dark versions of their apps.
Tweetbot already on that....

Would be really if they could sort that out... maybe apple could do an interoperation of their css. Come up with a formula where you inverse the colour then just play around with the colours to maintain readability?
